Initial Expectations: TeraVision has been putting out some hot stuff recently. Even if I wasn't a fan of older women I'd be looking forward to this one.

Initial Reaction: It has some good ideas, but the editing for the sex held the movie back horribly for me.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty average. The audio is clear, but the level changes repeatedly throughout the movie. There are also some noticeable background noises during some of the outdoor sex as well as being able to hear what sounds like other sex being shot around the set. The video is presented in non-anamorphic widescreen, and nicely mixes full color and black and white footage for the interviews and full color for the rest of the movie. It's nicely lit and smooth with a hint of grain here and there.

Music: There's a bit of music throughout the setup sequences that often has a rock feel and a nice balance with the rest of the audio. There's no music through the sex, and sadly that holds the movie back a bit as it could have probably covered up a lot of the softer background noises that are fairly noticeable as is.

Menus: The main menu blends the cover still with a little music and cheesy animation for a good first impression that fits the movie well. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene as well as a title for the scene.

The Feature

When Teri Weigel returns home to find her lazy white trash hubby Spyder nekkid on the couch with little brunette Lela, she decides that revenge is the best medicine. Rather than just leaving it at that, there's interviews with the characters throughout the movie much like you'd get on the late night reality TV shows.

Scene 1 – Lela Star and Spyder Jonez

The only thing that really held this scene back was the editing, which was more than a little choppy. It cuts from position to position, but Lela starts out slow and then builds up energy for each position which really messes with the scene's momentum. It also gives the feeling like there were constant stops to the action. This is an okay scene, and with smoother editing it would have been darn hot.

Scene 2 – Teri Weigel and Jay Lassiter

After catching Spyder with Lela, American MILF Teri decides it's time to take on gardener Jay. She lays down a towel by where he's working, strips down, and gets ready for that all over tan when Jay gives in to the bait she's fishing with. This scene ends up hovering just below the average mark.

Scene 3 – Ava Lauren and Dane

This isn't too bad of a scene. Ava looks darn hot and I love the older woman seducing younger guy thing. The scene moves along at a good pace, and the chemistry is pretty good as well. Sadly, the editing holds the movie back horribly once again, and I couldn't help but wonder how much I missed out on between Dane and Ava between positions due to how hacked up it felt. This could have been a very good scene, but instead it just makes it to the average mark.

Scene 4 – Michelle Lay and Teri Weigel

After good looking brunette MILF Seeker Michelle works out with Teri a bit she decides to put the moves on an all too willing Teri. This is a pretty average scene. There's decent chemistry between the girls, but once again the editing really strangles the sexuality of the scene by giving it a completely hacked up feeling. The camera work also left a bit to be desired, and with the scene starting with things light and finishing at night it made the scene once again feel like it took forever to shoot. I really like Michelle Lay, but she's turned a lot better scenes out elsewhere.

Scene 5 – Teri Weigel, Alex Gonz, and Mikey Budters

Dane doesn't want to think of his mom fucking other guys, and Teri fucking his friends Alex and Mikey only makes things worse. Luckily for everybody else, the don't give a rat's ass what Dane thinks. This is another average at best scene. Teri does a good job taking on the guys, but the editing is so poor that I really didn't care about it. The highlight was easily Teri's facial, which she takes very well, as well as a touch of humor with more story at the end. This scene finished American MILF at about the same level as the rest of the movie.

American MILF has a few nice things going for it, but sadly can't make it past the average mark. The story is fun with Spyder providing plenty of humor with his interviews and redneck character. The others are also good, but none of them can compare to Spyder here. I also like some of the style of the movie mixing in interviews and a bit of story as each scene starts. It reminds me a little of some of the late night reality shows that so many have as guilty pleasures, and started out making me think that American MILF might be another of those guilty pleasures. At the very least I couldn't help but like how TeraVision is trying to do things a little differently than everybody else out there rather than seeing how much they can cater to the lowest common denominator all the time. Unfortunately, the movie quickly spiraled into mediocrity. Spyder and the story are great, but they pretty much disappear for the middle half of the movie. The camera work is pretty well done with a good mix of angles, but while the setups are nicely edited the sex has the worst editing I can think of in recent memory. It has an extremely choppy feeling and left me wondering how much of the scene I missed every single time. I'm really not sure how any chemistry comes out in the scenes as the editing takes any flow or momentum from the scene and beats it like a red headed stepchild. This is all too bad because American MILF does have a lot of potential. The story's fun and works well for Teri Weigel to return and show just how well she can work it in three scenes with her doing everything but anal. It has a nice style and feels like it's trying to both have fun and do something a little different. All that said, however, perhaps the thing that says the most about American MILF is that Teri Weigel in three sex scenes showing how well she can suck and fuck isn't the most memorable thing about the movie. Instead it's a heavily tattooed bald guy in a mullet wig, a wife beater, and a sleeveless shirt.

Meet the Davidsons lasts just over four minutes and collects all of the interview segments from Teri and Spyder together in one place. Normally I'd easily pass something like this by, but here it works very well. There's some great humor in these segments, and although they're short they're also very enjoyable. This is a nice extra for the DVD.

Currently, many of TeraVision's DVDs can be found online for between about $19 and $25 with several stores offering them for about $20. That seems a little high for what you get here. The movie is amusing, but the sex didn't do much for me. The technical aspects are okay and there isn't really any effort put into the extras. This is an okay DVD.

Note to TeraVision: This DVD was screaming for a blooper reel or behind the scenes featurette! I can't help but think that there was more than a few laughs around Spyder and his mullet, and although the movie didn't work overly well for me, the cast did look like they were having a very good time with it.
