Initial Expectations: Kris Kramski has really impressed me with his other movies, so I’m looking forward to this one as well.

Initial Reaction: It’s excellent both as a movie and as a DVD!

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who likes heavily artistic and nasty porn such as Tanya Hyde’s movies

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants tame sex or who doesn’t want a lot of artistic additions to porn

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear and well balanced through the interviews. During the sex scenes, however, the music is the only audio. This gives much of the movie a music video type feel, which seems fitting for a movie that’s a tribute to sex and rock and roll. The video is mostly shot on film, but some of it is also shot on video. The video is filtered to look similar to the film, and is treated so that it has sepia tones rather than full color. There’s plenty of artistic affects done to the video, which gives the movie a very artistic feel.

Music: The music is all hard rock and the only audio during the sex scenes. In each scene the band is given credit and the song title is listed.

Menus: The main menu, as well as the submenus are very nicely animated and give a great first impression to the DVD.

The Feature: America XXX is a vignette style movie about freedom and rock and roll. Each scene is heavily artistic and acts almost like a music video for the hard rock songs in the movie. Between the scenes, Chloe interviews Larry Flint and the different bands in the movie about freedom and sexual issues.

Bomber opens things up with Going Down, with blonde Christal taking on Lucky, Renato, and BedKid. She goes from working her way around sucking the guys before letting them DP her in a few positions and give her a facial. It’s a very short and very artistic scene, and lets you know right away that this isn’t going to be your typical porno.

Fireball Ministry’s Daughter of the Damned and King are next, with Claudia and Sheila Scott dominating Leonardo in an army uniform in front of a Nazi flag and a burning swastika. Sheila quickly sucks the guy’s cock while Claudia chokes him with a leash before going down to help Sheila. Claudia guides the guy as he fucks Sheila before having him fuck each of her holes. Sheila works over Claudia as she takes her turn before they have Leonardo come in their hands and rub it all over his face. It’s a very hot scene with great chemistry as well. Claudia looks like she loves taking it in the ass, while Sheila looks like she loves working over both Claudia and Leonardo.

Supercocks are featured next with Waiting to be a Star and ShoelessJoe with Connection as Oana in a red wig works over Monica Moore in a light green wig and Alex in a pink wig. The girls work on each other as well as the Alex, and finish things up sharing the pop shot. It’s another very artistic scene that keeps the heat pretty well.

ShoelessJoe returns with Welcome to my Addiction in the next scene as blondes Sophie and Zsophia work each other over. Zsophia concentrates almost entirely on Sophie, while Sophie nicely works her attention between Zsophia and the camera. They seem to enjoy working each other over just as much as having somebody watching them. It’s an extremely hot scene that has a very fun and enjoyable feel to it.

Post Stardom Depression’s Girls Gone West and Johnny Toxic’s Drink Beer & Fuck are featured in the next scene. Hot blonde Erika plays with herself in paid of black fuck-me-boots as a group of bums watch until Chris Mountain has the nerve to whip his cock out. She sucks and fucks Chris in several positions with both holes. Finally Erika finishes things with a very impressive facial. It’s a very hot scene that has some very different imagery in it. I’m sure that this scene will turn off quite a few people, but it worked great for giving the scene a dirty feel.

Stargunn’s White Lines N’Black Ties and are featured in the next scene. In it gorgeous brunette Gili Sky masturbates with the help of a sword and a dildo while two Dobermans watch her. It’s another great scene that has plenty of heat and a performer who seems to love the camera watching her. Gili builds the heat very nicely as she plays, and really makes this a hot masturbation scene!

Post Stardom Depression returns with Honeymoon Killer and Bomber returns with Blue for the final scene. Blondes Erika and Sophie start with each other before taking on Carlos and BedKid in a dumpy warehouse. The girls work over each other as well as the guys, and even meet up a little before taking a nice pair of facials. It’s another great scene, but it’s a little on the short side and surprisingly doesn’t contain any anal.

America XXX is one of the most unique and artistic movies I’ve ever seen. This is no oddity for Kris Kramski’s direction, but he even goes above and beyond his normal artistic ability here by bringing in quotes about freedom and interviews with the bands who provide the music and Larry Flint about many issues surrounding sex, drugs, and freedom. It’s almost like a cross between a music video and a documentary. It’s nicely matched with hot sex with natural women. There’s a few tattoos, but that’s as close as it gets to artificial enhancements with the cast. There’s plenty of anal, DP’s, and group sex, none of which suffers from the artistic stylings of Kris Kramski. America XXX is an extremely hot movie that’s definitely worth checking out!

Extras: Trailers are included for Barely Legal 27, Porno Vision, and Young Sluts, Inc. 7. There’s also director’s commentaries, interviews, a bonus music video, and plenty of photo galleries.

The interviews last almost an hour, and keep Kramski’s distinctive style with sepia tones and a non-anamorphic widescreen format. There’s plenty of talk about drugs, AIDS, religion, the death penalty, and sex, and Chloe even gets it on with a couple of the band members. There’s a lot of talk about sex, including obscenity and age of consent, with the footage edited so the bands all talk about the same thing rather than having the interviews go band by band. It’s a nice selection of interviews, and you get to see some decent thought behind some of the answers.

There’s also Chloe’s unabridged interview with Larry Flint, which also lasts almost a half hour. Larry talks about drug legalization, drug use, and even the relationship between drugs and sex. Of course, there’s also talk about politics and censorship, as well as business issues, money, and some of his hobbies. There’s talk about freedom, obscenity, America compared to other countries, and HIV and AIDS. It’s a very good interview that gave me a lot more respect for Larry Flint.

There are also several photo galleries. The standard photo gallery lasts about two and a quarter minutes with about seven seconds per great looking full screen photo. Unlike the other galleries, this photo gallery comes with rock music. The rest of the galleries come with a commentary from Kris Kramski. There’s two minutes of Kris showing photos of the locations for pre-productions, where he talks about the locations and what he was looking for in the scenes. Kris talks about the women for about eleven minutes. He shows his Polaroids of the girls as he talks about them. He talks about the girls he uses as well as some of the ones he passed over, including what he liked and disliked about each of the girls. You even get to see his notes on what the girls charged for their scenes. Finally, there’s about a minute and a half of Kris talking about the guys. Kris talks about the guys poses and how many of the guys there do gay movies as well as straight movies. It’s a great selection of photo galleries, and having Kris Kramski give a commentary for them is a great idea! I’m really surprised nobody else has really done this, and I hope that Hustler does this more in the future!

Kris Kramski’s video for Bomber’s Long Live Rock ‘n Roll finishes up the featurettes. It’s a pretty standard music video, but you can see some of Kramski’s style throughout it. I’ll admit that I’m not as big of a heavy metal fan as I used to be, but it’s a decent video and I’m sure hard rock fans will enjoy this extra.

The audio commentary is available in both English and French. Kris Kramski talks about freedom and wanting to make a very controversial movie. He also talks about how he shoots the movie and gives some nice behind the scenes information. He also weighs in on many of the topics and gives a little more information on some things. It’s a very well done but different commentary, which is only fitting since this is a very different movie.

Overall: Currently, most Hustler DVDs can be found online for between $18 and $30, with many stores offering them for about $20. This is more than fair for what you get here. The sex is hot and the movie is highly artistic and thoughtful. The technical aspects aren’t perfectly clear, but they are very well done for the style of the movie and the extras are excellent!

Note to Hustler: It’s great to see you supporting the widescreen format, but it would be really great to see you take your support to anamorphic widescreen. It would also have been great if you would have included a bonus CD with a soundtrack of the movie.
