The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: As with most compilations, the technical aspects vary from scene to scene. In some the audio is nicely balanced and clear while others seem to be maxing out and crackly or to have plenty of background noises. The video varies as well, going from pretty clear with nice lighting and barely any camera motion to almost film-like grain when a company shoots film on a low budget with varying lighting, soft focus blurs, and camera motion. This one runs the full gambit.

Menus: The menus are pretty basic. The main menu combines the boxcover and a bit of the movie while the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Amateurs & First Timers 2 collects six different sex scenes. It comes off like a compilation, but what doesn’t when the company is part of New Machine? When I went to check and see if I could find where the scenes originally came from, I could only identify the source from one scene, but at least the girls are nicely identified in the movie.

Scene 1 - Tiana Lynn and Lee Stone

Amateurs & First Timers 2 is an okay movie. Lee Stone’s scenes with Tiana Lynn and Kimberly Kane are easily the best in the movie, both for sex and for the technical aspects, with Gia Paloma’s coming in at third place. Ed and Randy’s scenes easily draw up the rear, and leave what might have been a fully original collection of lost sex scenes feeling like just another New Machine (who owns Gen XXX) compilation. I’ve been almost completely turned off of New Machine because they seem like they’d rather throw out Ed and Randy comps rather than new material, and don’t do so in the most honest way either. If I would have known how this DVD was, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up, as Tiana Lynn was the main draw for me here. She does give a fantastic scene that’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of her’s, but most of the rest of the movie was pretty forgettable with plenty of poor camera work. Amateurs & First Timers 2 beats watching dogs lick themselves.

Currently, this DVD can be found online for between about $15 and $22 with most stores offering it in the $20 range. Unless you’re a big fan of the stars, rent this one first. There’s some good sex, but I don’t think the DVD has the replay factor to justify that price. The technical aspects vary quite a bit and there’s absolutely no effort put into extras. This is a pretty good movie on a DVD that looks like nobody cared much about it.

Note to Gen XXX: Please learn how to spell the names of the performers in your movies. When you have starlets such as Gia Paloma, who seems to have a good fan base, I’m sure they’d like to know when she has another release out.
