Initial Expectations: I’ve seen some great stuff in this series. With the talent here, I’m expecting a lot more!

Initial Reaction: It’s one of the best installments of the series that I’ve watched so far.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants a bit more chemistry and no plot

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants plenty of nastier sex

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty well done. The audio is clear and well balanced, right down to the interviews with Luc. They’re also nicely clear and free of background noises. The video is pretty good. It’s very nicely lit and has just a touch of grain. There’s also a little camera shake, a few very minor soft focus blurs, and a bit of camera aims that seem slightly off.

Music: None

Disc Complaints: There’s several phone sex commercials before the movie that you can’t skip all at once to get to the main menu. This always pisses me off. To make matters worse, once you get past them to the Free Speech Coalition commercial where it appears that you can go directly to the main menu, if you try skipping to the main menu with the menu button you’re taken right back to the start of the phone sex crap. Hell, even if you try going to the title menu during the movie or the extras you’re taken back to the crap. There’s also no time stamp for the DVD, which always irks me off too. Due to the annoying authoring and how much it pisses me off, I’m deducting a half point from the overall score.

Menus: The main menu is a little disappointing, and gives a few clips from the movie that have had some artistic effects applied. The chapter menu is nicely done, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the name of the girls in each scene.

The Feature

Luc Wylder, one of the nicest guys in the adult industry, hosts Amateur Angels. Although the girls aren’t quite amateurs in most cases (there’s a lot of familiar faces in the series), they’re all relatively new. Luc interviews each of the lovely ladies, and then lets them show what they can do.

Scene 1 - Julie Night and Tyce Bune

Scene 2 - Honey and Mikayla

Scene 3 - Allison Whyte and Kyle Stone

Redheaded Allison starts things out kissing Kyle while wearing a pink plaid skirt and sexy white tied off shirt. The only thing that really holds this scene back is some funky camera work at the start. This is another nice scene with plenty of chemistry.

Scene 6 - Ann Harlow and Adam Harlow

Ann, an extremely cute brunette, and Adam, her man who appears to have some gender issues with how he’s dressed, start out with a quick kiss before Adam goes down on Ann. There’s a great feeling of love and passion here, and that made this scene a winner for me.

Amateur Angels 8 is one of the best installments I’ve seen from the series so far. There were a couple times when I had a feeling like Luc was putting out a call to guys he knew in porn to bring in their girlfriends, and if this is the result of that I’m dang glad he did. There’s plenty of chemistry through the entire movie, as well as a nice variety of sex. There isn’t a bad scene here, and I’d even have trouble trying to pick a favorite scene. Every scene has a refreshing chemistry and often a loving or playful feeling that makes them very nice to watch. As usual, Luc also comes off as a great host and every bit as friendly as usual. Amateur Angels 8 is a great addition to the series, and has me really looking forward to Amateur Angels 9.

The Extra Stuff

The “pop shot” feature allows you to jump directly to the pop shot in each scene. Thankfully you have the option as to whether or not you want to see the icon. The photo gallery lasts about five and a quarter minutes with about six seconds per very nice looking snapshot. Bios are included for the entire female cast, including a photo and a bit of personal information. The behind the scenes featurette lasts almost twenty five minutes. Allison and Kyle start things out talking about sex a little before Allison poses for a few stills. Alexandra and Luc find Pris wandering around the set and chat with her a little while having her show off a little. Things move to Julie and the chair next, as Luc shows them just how versatile it is. Britney and Pat chat with the behind the scenes dude and have a bit of fun next before Britney poses for stills. Ann and Adam pose for their stills next, followed by Honey and Mikayla. It’s all an okay behind the scenes featurette. You get a fair amount of personality, but the main focus of it seems to be on watching still photos being shot. This is a decent behind the scenes featurette that seems like it could have been trimmed down a little.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, Adam & Eve’s DVDs can be found online for between $8 and $25, with several stores offering them for around $15. This one would even be a strong consideration near the higher end. The sex is hot and has plenty of chemistry, while the technical aspects and extras also show some effort. This is a very nice fresh talent DVD.
