All American (Huge Video) Review

Although in his early days Marc Sterling gave us some truly classic films, his output in the last ten years has been extremely disappointing. True, the guys are absolutely gorgeous; but the sex is rather tepid. Still—as I was feeling in a patriotic mood—I took this DVD from the shelf where it had been sitting for eons, dusted it off, and popped it in the player.
As expected, it was a prime example of his later work. Films which are very slick and workmanlike but failing to engender much heat. Part of the problem is that we always join the fucking after it has been going on for some time. Even when they change positions from doggy to missionary there’s no transition but a jump cut to the new position where the fuck has been going on for some time. Does Sterling ever look at the porn of Bjorn, Higgins, or Kazan to see how sex with gorgeous guys can be as hot as the guys themselves? I think not.

ALL AMERICAN features hunky athletes in baseball, football, and soccer—all of whom engage in the ultimate ball game. Our guide is the ultra handsome young Todd Mitchell.

We begin with two baseball players: Chris Champion and Claude Jourdan. There in the locker room, Claude starts chewing on Chris’ crotch through his uniform. Fishing out the big dick, the pretty young Canadian swallows it down. Todd, watching though the door, jacks off as he watches the action. Suddenly we discover Chris' cock is in Claude’s ass.

The second scene starts out with more promise and is one of the better scenes. Todd recalls his day at the pool with big Bo Summers. After frolicking in the pool and stripping off their bathing trunks to continue the gambol, they sit across from one another nude at a table. Bo’s bare foot reaches under the table to rub Todd’s cock. It’s a great moment but flits by like a demented mosquito. Instead we see each take a piece of fruit from a bowl and sensuously eat it. ZAP! Suddenly they’re sucking dick! Much could have been made of the foot on the cock and much more could have been done with the food and we should certainly have seen the transition from fruit to cock. But no, Zap! We cut again from the cocksucking to Todd being fucked. There’s no real care taken. What the fuck’s the rush?

This is followed by Dino Dimarco kicking a soccer ball around, showering with, and fucking Mike Chavez. It's unmemorable.

What follows is bizarre indeed. After a bit of roughhouse in the locker room two footballers (Steve Fox and Jeff Hammond) start sucking dick. There is no fucking, the cocksucking doesn’t cause anyone to climax, climaxing, and the scene itself sudddenly and abruptly ends. (???) Instead we are yanked abruptly to Steve Fox and Brick Stanton doing identical roughhousing in the locker room. It’s déjà vu with one changed partner. These two blond hunks are extremely beautiful. Brick Stanton is so breathtakingly beautiful he is positively godlike. I have never seen a more beautiful man. Steve sucks Brick's prick and we cut to Brick fucking Steve. Once again, as he was in the first scene, Todd Mitchell is an observer. After Brick has cum on Steve’s back. Todd strips off his clothes and decides to get into the action. As Steve rims Bricks ass, Todd rims Steve’s. The versatile Steve now fucks Todd and for the only time in the film we see a cock actually enter an ass! It is the only moment to cause testicle tingle.

What a sensational film this could have been with a director who was neither lazy nor complacent and took some care with the production. As it is, ALL AMERICAN is a treat to the viewer’s eyes but does little for the viewer’s dick.
