What You Need to Know: Adam & Eve's Guide to the Kama Sutra is a decent instructional release. Each position is demonstrated for two and a half to three minutes by a few attractive couples with twenty to thirty seconds of commentary at the start by Dr. Kat van Kirk. The positions are nicely approachable for couples, and are often simple variations of common positions rather than positions even circus acrobats can only dream of. That said, there were many times when I wanted more out of this release. The camera work was nicely done, but the commentary almost always seemed far too limited and barely gave more than what was included in the small book in the DVD package. I would have loved a little discussion about which position works best for different body style as well as taking things another step further by commentating on certain positions that might work very well for anal penetration. All in all, Adam & Eve's Guide to the Kama Sutra felt more like eye candy than instruction, and only makes it past the average mark due to how approachable it makes its subject.
Condom Usage: None
Extras: Ten bonus oral positions lasting about twenty three and a half minutes. They're free of Dr. Kat Van Kirk's introduction, which definitely brought them down a little, and you have to watch them one position at a time rather than having the option to watch them one after the other. You also get trailers (3 from Jayme Waxman's Personal Touch series), a photo gallery (2:50), and weblinks. Finally there is a bonus CD soundtrack and an illustrated Kama Sutra book.
Verdict: If you're interested in this one, rent it. There's some nice ideas here, but nothing so complicated I can see couples needing to keep checking back with the main movie for.
Note to Adam & Eve: You put some nice care into the extras you included here, but if you're going to credit Eric Masterson for the BTS in the credits, please include a behind the scenes featurette on the DVD as well.
