Adam & Eve Signature Series 4: Cheyenne Silver Review

Initial Expectations: The other Signature Series titles I’ve seen have been very good compilations, so I expect more of the same.

Initial Reaction: The sex is better than in the other Signature Series titles that I’ve seen, but the interview lacks.

Audio /Video Quality: Of course, the sex scenes vary due to the quality of the original features, but overall they have a good balance and are quite clear. Typical of most outdoor scenes, the interviews lack a little for the audio and are kind of hard to hear. The video, however, is very clear and well lit.

Music: Varies depending on the original movie. There’s a lot of Saint’s music as well as some seventies feel music.

Review: As with the other DVDs in the Adam & Eve Signature Series , this one consists of Ian Daniels interviewing Cheyenne Silver amidst a compilation of her scenes. They discuss how she got into the adult film business and what people think back home (since she comes from a town of about 1500 people). They also cover some more personal things such as the difficulties of maintaining a relationship in the adult film business, her strengths and weaknesses, and what she thinks of success and love. Of course, her fantasies and turn-ons are in there too. Although Cheyenne and Ian have great chemistry, the interviews are a lot shorter than the other Signature Series interviews. Most of the time the interview lasts about a minute between going into the next scene. It’s great if you’re looking at this as just a compilation feature, but the main strength of the other Signature Series features was that it gave the viewer such a great glimpse of the performer as a person. The highlight of the interviews was Joel Lawrence stopping in. Joel comes off as an extremely fun person and he fits right into the interview. He’s rapidly becoming one of my favorite porn guys and I wish he would have stuck around a little longer. Anyway, since this is about the sex, let’s get down to the sex scenes!

The first scene comes from Serenade and has Cheyenne serenading Jack Hammer and Ashton Moore on the violin. Jack has never impressed me but this scene is one of my favorites. It’s very erotic and Cheyenne normally gives an extremely erotic performance. She says volumes with her eyes and they do a great job here from teasing Jack as Ashton eats her out to begging Ashton for more. It’s a great scene to start out the feature as well as a very hot scene on its own.

Switching gears a little, Cheyenne takes on Lexington Steele in a scene from Search For the Snow Leopard . It’s a little different scene as Cheyenne barely leaves the chair she’s sitting in. She masturbates for Lexington before taking his huge cock down her throat. There’s a lot of oral sex in the scene but it doesn’t end there. Most of the fucking also takes place with at least part of Cheyenne on the chair but she does leave it for a few moments. Some of the editing seems a little off but it’s still a very hot scene.

Cheyenne goes in a completely different direction in the next scene, the all girl orgy from The Quick & The Hard . It’s an okay scene but not one of my favorites. The music was overpowering and had kind of a seventies feel to it that doesn’t fit with the rest of the scene. On the plus side, there’s no toys. Although I enjoy toys in all - girl scenes, it’s one of those things that doesn’t fit into a scene that’s supposed to take place over a hundred years ago in the wild west.

Next, Randy Spears gets a little taste of Cheyenne in the final scene from Carnal Witness . It’s a fairly laid back scene that’s also tender. The sex isn’t too wild, but you don’t expect that from either of these performers. They go with their strengths here and it makes the scene successful.

Joel Lawrence checks into Cheyenne in a scene from Pure Bliss . The scene revolves around Joel as a rich man who’s about to leave a house but can’t when he sees Cheyenne touching herself while watching herself in a mirror. This scene has some of the best mirror usage I’ve seen in a movie. Throughout the scene you can almost always see Cheyenne in the mirror. Joel appears in the mirror for a couple moments, but not much.

Returning to The Quick & The Hard , Johnni Black helps Cheyenne tame Randy Spears in a back shed. It’s a decent scene but the lighting is a little on the low side. The scene was put together quite well for this feature. Originally it was mixed with two other scenes, this being the best of them. You can barely tell with how well it was put together. Johnni and Cheyenne do a great job of sharing Randy and the chemistry between the three of them help make this a good scene.

Next, Cheyenne and Nina Hartley get to know each other a little better on the kitchen counter in another scene from Carnal Witness . There’s no toy usage in this scene either, but these ladies don’t need any. It’s a very natural feeling scene and it shows some of why Cheyenne is such a popular actress. The ending is a little off, especially for a compilation, but that’s one of the problems with compilations.

Finally, we get to the new scene between Ian and Cheyenne. It’s a very long scene, lasting over fifteen minutes, that takes place on the porch where the interview takes place. It’s a little different as both Ian and Cheyenne use a camera during the scene to take some of the footage. It gives the scene a little bit of a gonzo feel. The scene is also slightly erotic. You don’t get to see all of the action due to the stuff on the porch. Sometimes the action will be partially hidden by a fence post or a wagon wheel. It really fits Cheyenne’s personality, but at times it’s a little annoying. Also, Cheyenne never takes off the tank top that she’s wearing. It’s a good scene, but it’s not quite up to some of her other scenes.

Finally, there’s a bonus scene from Pure Bliss with Dale DaBone photographing Cheyenne and Monique DeMoan on a hay wagon. Throughout the scene Dale only takes pictures and never joins in with the ladies. It’s a pretty standard lesbian scene but it’s very well done technically. Although it’s an outdoor scene you never hear any of the normal problems. There’s no wind noise or other noise from neighbors. It’s a decent scene but I have to wonder why it wasn’t included in the actual feature. The interviews were only lasting about a minute, so I wouldn’t think that it would be too tough to ask one or two more questions so that it would fit in. As it is, it makes the feature on this entry in the Signature Series look poor compared to the others. The only thing that brings it up to the level of the others is the bloopers and out-takes. I guess it’s as good as the others, but not for quite the same reasons.

Extras: The extras are better than average here. The bios cover Cheyenne Silver, Nina Hartley, Anita Cannibal, and Ashton Moore. It’s a nice little write up but nothing too special. There’s also a few bonus scenes for the other signature girls with an Asia Carrera scene from My 2nd Love , a Johnni Black scene from Incognito , and an Alexandra Silk scene that came from a movie I’m unfamiliar with. As usual, there’s also trailers for Caribbean Undercover, Devoured, Teasers, The Collector, Taboo of Tarot , and Perfectly Flawless . Finally, there’s about four minutes of bloopers and out-takes from Ian interviewing Cheyenne and their scene together. It’s a nice little bit of fluff and fun that I wish was on some of the other Signature Series DVDs.

Overall: Currently, Adam & Eve Signature Series Vol. 4: Cheyenne Silver can be found online for between $10 and $23 with a couple stores offering it for under $15. If you’re a fan of Cheyenne, you’ll want to check this one out. It’s a well done compilation DVD but it isn’t as well done as the others in the series if you’re looking at getting a feel for Cheyenne as a person.

Note to Adam & Eve: This one could have been put together a little better. It looked a little thrown together to have a bonus scene on a compilation feature.
