The Accidental Bear is a gay short adult movie that director Paul Deeb made for the now defunct Pillow Book Gallery, of which Deeb was also president. The Accidental Bear is not your standard all sex short movie. In fact, it is quite the opposite than your standard all sex short movie.

Viewers familiar with the short movies that are on Pillow Book Gallery will recognize the general style of The Accidental Bear. In a way, The Accidental Bear breaks the fourth wall. No, no one from the cast will be addressing you the viewer at home. However, the fact that they are making a movie is never hidden from the audience.

The Accidental Bear takes a lighthearted and playful look at sex. As the short movie builds up to the sex scene, Will Swagger and Allen Silver enjoy time with each other. This isn't a short movie that just rushes right into the sex. The seemingly unscripted lead-in is just as important as the sex scene itself. The sex scene itself has a lot of close intimate shots, which shouldn't be confused with the gynecological close-up that the early 70s were known for. Above all, Swagger and Silver look like they are loving every minute they are spending together, whether it is before the sex scene or during the sex scene.

While it is presented in a widescreen aspect, Deeb utilizes various sized frames to present the film that contrast with various amounts of black screen. Some sequences are shown in color while others are shown in black and white. This combination of techniques makes for a very different and very pleasing looking short movie. The music used in the short movie also plays a huge role in the feel and pacing of the movie. The Accidental Bear is a combination of visual and auditory art that uses the adult short movie medium to present itself to the viewer.

The end result of all of this put together is a very beautiful and sensual short movie. Viewers, either straight or gay, will end the movie with a smile on their face and a great feeling in their heart having watched a scene that looked like two people, very much in love, sharing an intimate moment with the viewer. The Accidental Bear is highly recommended.

The edition of The Accidental Bear screened was a digital screener provided to this reviewer by the director Paul Deeb as such there is likely to be differences between the digital screener and any market released versions of The Accidental Bear. The Accidental Bear was shot digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1. There wasn't a flaw to be seen anywhere during the screener and the colors within the short movie were beautiful.

The Accidental Bear is presented with an English 2.0 Stereo audio track which sounded absolutely beautiful. The dialog in the short movie is clear and easy to understand at all times. The music is nicely balanced and sounds wonderful.

The Accidental Bear is a gay all sex short movie that doesn't follow any short all sex movie conventions. The result is a playful and fun gay short movie that is a lot of fun to watch. The Accidental Bear is a fun watch for gay or straight viewers showing lighthearted sex. Hopefully, the Pillow Book Gallery short movies will get released again in the near future for viewers to watch.
