The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: As one would expect from a compilation, the technical aspects vary a little from scene to scene. That said, they don’t vary a lot. Most of the audio is clear and well balanced, and there are very few background noises or balance problems. The video is much the same way. The lighting varies a little, and some scenes are a little softer than others, but it never falls into a feeling of being poorly done.

Music: There’s a little music here and there, depending on the scene. It sometimes drowns out the action, but is normally nicely done.

Menus: The main menu is a little disappointing, and works a bit of the movie with an artistic style that just didn’t work for me. The chapter menu is very generic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene while keeping the style of the main menu.

The Feature

The 69 Club takes a simple compilation style. Each scene out telling the viewer who’s in it (but never where the scene comes from), and contains a bit of sixty-nine action to draw it all together.

Scene 1 - Brooke Hunter and Steve Hatcher

Things start out with a scene from Stolen Moments. Brooke Hunter, a nice looking blonde who obviously has a few years under her belt (which isn’t a bad thing) hooks up with Steve Hatcher in the entryway to the house for some make-up sex. The penultimate scene comes from Devoured. The 69 Club is a pretty decent compilation. Yes, there’s a dud scene or two, but for the most part there’s some nice chemistry and the action is nicely captured. I like that Adam & Eve care enough to tell you who’s in each scene, but at the same time I hate that they never tell you where the movie comes from. I always think that there’s a good chance that if somebody likes one scene out of a feature, they may want to see more from that feature which should make it an easy sale if they know what the movie is. At the same time, if somebody sees a couple scenes out of a long running series (such as, say Amateur Angels), that they may want to check out more of that series if they like what they saw in the compilation. Not giving that information, either in the chapter menu, at the start of the scene with the names of the performers, in closing credits, or maybe best of all, in a cast listing by scene that would even let you know who directed the movie (something which could also be combined with the chapter menu in a second screen where you can also choose where you want to go in the action), is a big part of what makes the difference between a good compilation and a great compilation. I don’t mind a little variation in sex styles, since it makes the compilation appeal to a few more people and might help somebody find something they didn’t realize they’d enjoy, but let people know who’s in the scenes and where they come from. The 69 Club shows some decent care, but doesn’t have the extra little polish that makes a good compilation a great one.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Amateur Angels 19, Camera Club, Dirty Girlz, Fit to be Tied, Over 30 and Dirty, and Tell Me What You Want 5. The photo gallery lasts nearly three minutes, and takes about three seconds to infuriatingly pan around or zoom in on each snapshot. There’s a nice variety of sex and the technical aspects show some good care. There’s also a bit of effort put into the extras with a bonus scene. This is a pretty good compilation.
