NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are some of the weakest I've seen from Shot at Home. The audio is pretty clear and well balanced, but as usual with amateur releases there are a few background noises. The video is presented in the full frame format, and much weaker. The camera work is a little shakier and there's a fair amount of digital breakdown. You also get to see the guys shooting the action a few times. Normally that would really bring a movie down for me, but here with the amateur style and complete party atmosphere of the movie it didn't interfere with it at all. It actually helped the movie a few times as you could Terry and the guys with cameras having just as much fun as Kris and the girls watching and trying to capture it.

Music: None

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner for the first scene and the upper right corner for the second scene. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six stills.

The Feature

You can tell that Sarah's the newbie to the group throughout 3 Girl Romp, but she keeps up with the others very well. Although I can see some people being a little put off by seeing Terry and the cameras in the movie (I know I normally do), here it never interfered in the least. There's such a party atmosphere to the entire movie and they seem to be having such a great time as well that I couldn't help but smile along with them watching. If there's a complaint about the action it would have to be that it's so wild that it's hard to keep up just watching it. 3 Girl Romp is a darn hot movie with so much going on it almost made my head spin.

Currently, most of Shot at Home's DVDs can be found on their website for around $20. If you like orgy movies or wild party sex movies, this one's going to be well worth the money. It's basically an hour long orgy with most anything going between three girls and two guys. The technical aspects are a bit weak due to some digital breakdown, but like all other Shot at Home releases there is a little effort put into the extras. This is an amazing movie on a pretty good DVD.

Note to Shot at Home: It's odd to see the digital breakdown here, but like so many of your other releases it's nice to know that you're only willing to leave movies like that when the sex is REALLY hot. Thank you.
