The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: For amateur porn, the technical aspects are pretty good. The audio has a fair amount of background noise, but they feel natural for amateur porn. The audio is balanced pretty well, and comes off sounding pretty good for amateur porn. The video also lacks, as is usual for amateur porn. Scene 1 - Paris Hilton and Rick Saloman

The first scene starts out in black and white, and was originally shot in night vision. Paris admire’s Rick’s cock a little before lying back for him to fuck her missionary style. This is a decent scene and I think it would have been a lot better with a pop.

Scene 3 - Paris Hilton and Rick Saloman

1 Night in Paris is a pretty disappointing movie. I really like homemade and amateur releases, but this one just doesn’t cut it. Yes, you have the chemistry and playfulness that often makes the amateur movies work for me, but the camera work seems so amateur, and often clueless, that it often left me wanting. Heck, for the sex portion of the second and third scene, you never even see a tit, let alone a little pussy. The final blowjob scene is easily the best in the movie, but it isn’t so good as to make this a must see movie. 1 Night in Paris is a definite one timer.

Bonus Scene 1 - Randi Wright and Erik Everhard

The third bonus scene comes from David Luger’s Just Over Eighteen 3. The second disc is completely devoted to extras. Unfortunately, the only extras they’ve included are trailers for other Red Light District releases. There’s sixty seven previews included here, and absolutely nothing related to the main feature. To me, the second disc is next to worthless.

Although I’m happy to see Red Light District include a few bonus scenes to make the release more worthwhile, overall I’m extremely disappointed with the extras. I’m so disappointed in the extras that they actually brought the entire release down for me. The only thing Red Light District did right here was to include the bonus scenes on the first DVD. To me, this is a smart move. The movie only lasts about an hour so there’s plenty of space free on the DVD. It might as well be used, and including a few bonus scenes will hopefully result in a few viewers picking up other RLD releases. Somebody should have been slapped if this wasn’t done for this release!

My problem is the second DVD, or more to the point, that this was a Super Duper Collector’s Edition - 2 Disc Set DVD release with a price tag that’s none too shy. I rented this one with a monthly rental program and even felt ripped off there due to the second DVD being nothing but a collection of trailers for RLD releases. This is the first DVD release that gave me that feeling after a few hundred rentals in both mainstream and adult. I would have much rather seen a few more bonus scenes and something like the internet release of Paris’s scene that was a few minutes longer. To me, the second DVD felt like it was just there to be able to justify putting Collector’s Edition - 2 Disc Set on the cover and upping the price a few extra bucks without really giving the consumer any value for those few extra bucks. That never gives me a good feeling, and it brought down the entire release for me.

Currently, 1 Night in Paris can be found online for between about $19 and $35, with most stores offering it in the upper half of the range. Rent this one before you buy it. I was disappointed with the main feature, but it did have pretty average technical aspects for amateur footage. There’s some decent bonus scenes in the extras, but the “2 DVD Collector’s Edition” that was put together here is basically a joke. There’s no way I can justify the standard price tag on this one, and even the low end is pushing it.

Note to Red Light District: It’s great that you’re putting a few bonus scenes on the DVD with this release rather than just slapping out an hour long movie plenty of people will buy, but the two disc “Collector’s Edition” release you put together here is a joke. In the future, if you’re going to put out a two disc set, put something meaningful on the second DVD rather than just commercials for yourself.
