  • Pornstars who pace their career for longevity... 12/10/2009 1:45:02 AM
IMO, I don't think the idea of pacing has any effect on career longevity what so ever. I believe it does have an effect on the amount of sales a girl can drive, but that's assuming that the girl has the ability/star power to drive sales to begin with. Unless you're one of the top starlets, it doesn't matter what you do (or don't do) because you will soon be forgotten/replaced anyways. There are too many girls, too much competition for every new girl who tries to pace her career to even matter.

Why not just stay in mainstream film?

(3) get yourself hard without any help or visual aids (4) cum in 16 minutes (5) aim it onto and cum onto a CD plastic cover without missing it. All without any women or porn around. If you can do that I will give you an address to send it to and he says he will use any guy that can do that -- they have to get themselves to LA and pay for the AIM test. The video has to be raw and cannot be stopped or edited in anyway and it has to be wide shots so there's no cheating going on.... This ...

I'm sure others could think of a lot more. Are options 1 and 2 literally the only ways a dude can get into porn? Probably not. But I have a feeling they are far and away the most common ways. Perhaps I should add option 3: be a mope. Somehow, at some point, someone might notice that you're more well-hung or you can blow a bigger load than the average mope, and then maybe they'll try you out for something with a tiny bit more prestige and see how you do. I disagree with this. If you go route #1, then you stand the chance of getting black balled because many girls wont want to work with you if the...

I honestly don't see it as that great of a bargaining chip. If I'm running the production, I'm not going to hire a "has been" just because it would be her 1st anal, IR, or whatever else. Sure, I could use that "1st" as an advertising ploy to get a few more sales... but I could get just as many sales by using a marquee girl to do the same scene.

Mr Springer wrote: There are only so many ways to shoot the act of sex, after a while, nothing is new under the sun. Thats the thing though. Most people will simply fixate on the act of sex and say theres very little that can be done differently or creatively in porn. But there are so many different elements that allow for creativity in porn besides (and in addition to) the sex itself. The directors that can see this and realize that they dont have to use the same mold as everyone else, can really open up some new doors in the creative realm.

^^^^^ Theres variety in the outlying shells or niches, but the underlying framework is invariably similar. Its almost like building the same style house over and over again but painting it a variety of different colors. Does that really give you a different house from the guy next door to you?

People definitely discriminate when it comes to sex. I know I do, but I don't do it with regards to skin color or ethnicity. But what I have a problem with is when people are discriminatory, but try to pass it off as if they are not. If you don't want to fuck Asian people, or blacks, or whoever, then be man (or woman) enough to own up to the fact that you are discriminatory and stop trying to use a bunch of bullshit excuses as to why you don't fuck a certain type of people. ...

I actually agree with the OP. There's no doubt that producers tend to cast talent that fits into a certain mold. And to a certain extent, that's to be expected. But besides that, there's also a lot of unoriginality in the style of videos being produced. So many of the big studios produce the same generic, cookie-cutter porn that all comes from the same mold. There's not a lot of originality or creativity there.

If men can have preferences over the look of their sexual partner and no one gives them shit about it then why do women get this crap every time a thread like this comes up? I just thought I'd point out the correct definition of a "preference", because a lot of people seem to misunderstand exactly what having a "preference" actually means. A preference denotes a leaning towards (or preferring one thing over another), NOT exclusivity. I may "prefer" Coke, but I'll still drink Pepsi. So if you say you &quot...
  • pornstars really enjoy sex? 2/23/2009 1:19:19 PM
^^^^ I was disagreeing with what you said before about a girl having no choice but to enjoy sex with a skillful partner. People do porn for various underlying reasons. Some do it mainly for the sex. Some do it for the sex as well as the money. And some could care less about the sex and just want to get paid. No one is saying the performers who say they really enjoy it are lying. But dont be nave enough to believe that everything you see in porn is "real" and the girls are really enjoying it as much as they let on. I can GUARANTEE you that every girl who really loves and gets off on the sex has had at least one bad scene where she didnt enjoy it at all, and had to fake it all the way through.
  • pornstars really enjoy sex? 2/23/2009 12:22:40 PM
^^^ Some of them do, and some of them are in it only for the money. There are people that work with pornstars on a daily basis that are trying to tell you how it is... but you just don't want to hear it.

Im not trying to say these people should be forced to do things they dont want. Im just telling it like it is. And when someone says they wont do X, Y, and Z then they dont get booked for the job that requires X, Y, and Z. Thats the bottom line. Now if the performers are happy accepting that, then (as killbillvol69 says) more power to them. From a business standpoint these people are only hurting themselves. The more restrictions actors place on what they will/won't do and who they will/won't do it with only serves to limit their job options, which in turn restricts their possible income. Not very smart IMO.
