  IMO, I don't think the idea of pacing has any effect on career longevity what so ever. I believe it does have an effect on the amount of sales a girl can drive, but that's assuming that the girl has the ability/star power to drive sales to begin with. Unless you're one of the top starlets, it doesn't matter what you do (or don't do) because you will soon be forgotten/replaced anyways. There are too many girls, too much competition for every new girl who tries to pace her career to even matter.

  I wonder the same thing. I can only assume that many have this perception of the job as being something different than it really is. Then when they see the reality, they find they don't like it and quit.

  I actually agree with the OP. There's no doubt that producers tend to cast talent that fits into a certain mold. And to a certain extent, that's to be expected. But besides that, there's also a lot of unoriginality in the style of videos being produced. So many of the big studios produce the same generic, cookie-cutter porn that all comes from the same mold. There's not a lot of originality or creativity there.

  From a business standpoint these people are only hurting themselves. The more restrictions actors place on what they will/won't do and who they will/won't do it with only serves to limit their job options, which in turn restricts their possible income. Not very smart IMO.
