  Back in december I got an unexpected christmas bonus from work and used the cash to buy myself a new 40GB Ipod, it kicks ass! I have my entire music collection on it now. I went and sold my old 5GB model on ebay and got $150 for it, so overall the new one only ran me $250. My coworker spent his bonus on the new models that store pictures and have a color display, it is really nice! I may upgrade to it in a year or so when after the prices drop some.

  I have not been happy with the pre-packaged externals I've bought, I had a couple of buslink drives and the front covers always broke off. So I bought myself a new 200 GIG western digital and bought an enclosure for it and its been awesome, that is the path I would recommend. Plus it will end up being a good $60 less than buying a pre-packaged one, here is a link to the external case that I bought.   I've had an ipod for almost three years now and I can't even imagine working out without it, it gets plenty loud as I listen to lots of old punk and metal when I'm at the gym. So don't ask anymore questions, RUN LIKE HELL AND GO GET ONE!!! I'm about to buy myself a new 40GB version as a birthday present to myself. Mine is one of the original 5GB Ipods and the new ones are much better designed. I once even dropped it in a glass of water a couple of years ago and it still functions, though it took about three weeks for it to dry out. I wouldn't recommend doing that though.
