• Mainstream to Porn Crossovers? 5/15/2004 1:12 PM
Kristine DeBell. While not exactly a huge star she had a regular role in The Young and the Restless and did a bunch of other TV roles. She then moved over and did the campy porn Alice in Wonderland before moving back to mainstream.

Rule #1) Never buy anything from Leisure Time. Rule #2) The better a Leisure Time flick looks on the box cover, the worse it is. Rule #3) Never buy anything from Leisure Time. Rule #4) Leisure Time sucks. Rule #5) Never buy anything from Leisure Time. That ought to cover it.

If anything, that's my one quibble with Francesca Le's movies, that she's not in them enough. It seems like she does one scene per film. It might be an improvement if she upped it to 2 scenes per flick, she's as hot or even hotter now than she was before she retired the 1st time.

There are no issues about the quality of either the audio or the video in her films, they're quite good. As for her directing, she really doesn't have a "style". You can't watch a Francesca Le and know instantly that it's Francesca Le, it looks like a lot of other wall-to-wall stuff. I've seen one or two of the Butt Quests and both Flesh Fests and found them to be very well done. Lots of energy and excellent performances. Never anyone going through the motions and everyone seemed to be having a good time. She also hires top quality female talent.
  • Disappointed with Red Light District 2/23/2004 4:18 PM
I agree, the last Luger film I saw was the LAST Luger film I'll ever see. Following the raid on Anabolic/Diabolic's talent RLD seemed destined to rival Evil Angel. Now they've taken a huge step backward. In rushing tons of material out the door quality control has gone to hell. I'll never watch any Vince Voyeur stuff and the films from Luger and Fischer are pure garbage. I'll check out some of Mike John's new films, but in 6 months RLD has gone from a studio where I wanted to see everything to one where I'd rather see little to nothing. Keep shoveling the crap out the door without an eye toward maintaining quality and a lot of other once loyal customers will move on to greener pastures. There are plenty of other studios.

Investigations tracked it back to him, he was arrested, tried and convicted. He's serving (I think) 3 years of house arrest. And what did that accomplish? Did the uploading of copyrighted files stop or slow? Did that prevent the other 100 copies of The Hulk from getting uploaded? Did people not upload other movies because of that case? Can I not go to usenet or any P2P network and grab a copy of The Hulk whenever I want one? The fact that one person was dumb enough to get caught merely underscores the futility of fighting the uploaders one by one. In the time it took for that film to b...

All the Buffy the Vampire Slayer chicks. That would be a great cast, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Allyson Hannigan, Eliza Dushku, Charisma Carpenter, Emma Caulfield, heck, even the little sister Dawn is 18 now.

In regards to my comparison, my experience is that people's primary reaction to theft is a feeling of violation. The concern for the material loss is usually secondary. I appreciate and agree with your exploration of the differences in physical and intellectual property but I don't think it is on point, as the owner expresses the same reaction either way. Perhaps, but the degree of violation is completely different between, say, having an item stolen from your home and having the stereo taken from your car. The difference is even greater when you look at having an item stolen from your home versus having intellectual property pirated. There might be a feeling a violation in either case, but you can't argue that it's the same thing. That's...

You also need to factor in the time and resouces used and consider how much bang you're getting for the buck. The RIAA/MPAA have spent billions on this problem and have gotten exactly nowhere. They've gotten a couple of well-publicized victories, but those are band-aids on bullet-wounds. Their treats, intimidation, arrests of 12-year-olds, bought senators and constant spin-doctoring has not done a single thing to prevent file-trading. Every album hits the net the day it hits the stores and every mainstream movie is available within days of release to the theaters and in many cases, WEEKS EARLIER. You can follow their lead and start chasing people, but you really need to take a deep breath and ask yourself if that's going to get you anywher...

I got the feeling that everything in her life revolves around having a camera pointed at her. If there wasn't tape to play to she'd probably be worse than a Vivid girl, lying there checking her watch and hoping her hair doesn't get messed up. Nicole might be the same way, all attitude for the cameras, but unwilling to back it up.
  • Besides the PYRAMID, what Woodman is worth buying? 2/14/2004 3:03 PM
Generally, if you like any early Woodman you'll like all early Woodman. His style changed when he went over to Hustler, but while with Private he was pretty consistant. His features were all similar, exotic sets, beautiful girls, lots of anal, etc etc. If you liked the Pyramid series also try the Tatiana 1-3, Fatal Orchid 1-2, That's Life 1-2, Madness 1-2, Riviera 1-3 and Kruger Park.

Besides, porn is so far behind her...her recent book glosses over a time in her life that she'd rather forget. Which is quite ironic considering that without the porn past there's not a person on earth that would even bother to read that book. The porn notoriety is the only thing that got her a couple of minor acting parts, without that she'd be asking "You want fries with that?" to make a living.
  • Ashley Blue 1/11/2004 1:40 PM
Ahhh, now Taylor Rain is another story, she's a much better performer than Jenna Haze is since going to JKP. I would have voted for Taylor over Ashley, but can't quibble with Ashley winning, she never fails to give an enthusiastic performance. And I agree, gonzo isn't the only game in town. It's just that the studios shooting the most high-profile features SUCK! When you're got Evil Angel, RLD, Zero Tolerance and others churning out high quality stuff, the feature side of things suffers in comparison. It's possible to make hot features, but Vivid, JKP and even Wicked now, don't.

For the category of "Performer of the Year" I wouldn't even consider Jenna Haze to be in the running. She used to be an incredible performer, now she's just a JKP Barbie Doll. Jenna, go back to working for Evil Angel, please!
  • Good DVDs without piercings and tattoos? 1/5/2004 1:14 PM
It might be a good idea for a series, something along the line of Nice Rack or 110% Natural. Granted, it greatly reduces the pool of available talent, but there are a lot of us that hate tats, piercings and plastic. Not much a director can do about the bolt-ons, but piercings can be removed for a scene and with some careful filming or using clothing creatively a lot of tattoos could be worked around as well.

If memory serves, Kristine started in mainstream TV and had small roles in several primetime series as well as daytime soaps. Then she crossed over to do Alice in Wonderland and afterward got accepted back into regular Hollywood with the roles in Meatballs and The Main Event.
