The reason I think it's worth posting again is because I'm not the only one behind this. Time Magazine recently alluded to this exact distribution model in their cover page article about Steve Jobs, Apple and iTunes. They said that the future of digital media distribution is iTunes-style clients providing pay-per-download services. Think 99 cent song, 99 cent movie clip. The reference to this industry went something like "and perhaps other industries will follow suit as well (cough!) porn! (cough!)"   On penetration shots - Yes, I like them too, but some movies focus in on them too much. IE, sometimes like half the movie. But then again, maybe it's just me! Admittedly, it is only rare that I get to watch a DVD, and the handful I have are actually pretty old, and now that you mention it, I haven't seen it for a while myself. It's a lingering complaint that I've never had a venue to express.

  Four major things that I need to opine about. First of all, penetration shots. After the first few seconds, they're BORING. What's the deal? Why are so many clips like more than half penetration? Second, why such dry and mechanical performers. Common sight: missionary, male upright, verry little contact, in and out at a constant pace for minutes on end. Again, boring. Why the complete absence of passion? You know how other peoples' behavior influences your own mindset? Watching someone who looks bored makes you bored, for example. Why don't you ever see performers who seem excited? Engrossed? Horney? I swear to God you can almost see them checking the clocks, wondering when the hell they can get this over with, as they keep on with their ...

  What we really need is an iTunes style pay-per-download. And please, nothing outrageous! At most say $5 for high-demand movies (movies being single scenes, not full features) and 99 cents or less for older clips. Not pay-per-view, pay-per-DDR'd-download. Hell, let's get a standards group together and make ID3 data sets for our porn clips that have tags for stars, category (anal, bdsm, etc), date made, and plug 'em all into a browser interface a-la, yes, iTunes. I think anybody who has used iTunes to categorize their 500+ CD music libraries would definitely appreciate a similar organizer for their 50+ gig MPEG collections.
