  I import quite alot of 'stuff' from the U.S - including DVD's, and 70% of the items get levied an import tax charge. Some sneak through, but my general advice to anyone is expect to pay - so you are not surprised when the royal mail post the card through the door telling you its got a customs charge on it. On a $50 - $70 order, expect to pay about 11.

  I've always wondered if they keep a log of how many titles and subject material etc you are buying. Or am I paranoid?

  Hi all, I have just started using fivestar DVD now, and just got my first order from them, but it went through UK customs who passed it through, but whacked a 14 charge to pay! It was shipped in the USPS priority envelope like usual and I have never before had to pay customs charges. Anyone had similar experiances lately? or orders confiscated for no reason? Fivestar put on the envelope that it was DVD's value $88, but did not mark them as 'gift'.

  Hi all, could you recommend a online store that is reliable with good email feedback, reasonably priced, with low cost shipping charges and also stocks the latest titles? I have only used DVDXTREME.COM, and they never reply to any emails which really helps when an order goes missing, so am looking to replace them with someone else.

  I originally placed this topic because of concerns over the delay of ordering. After the 11th Sept, I had 2 orders outstanding which have both arrived, each took just over two weeks via Global Priority. If one did not arrive, I don't think I would report it to the post office, they would want to know what's inside? - tricky. You takes your chances when you order this kind of stuff, I always say, one lost order and that's it, no more orders, and thankfully none have gone astray yet. I personally am not going to order any dvd's for afew months while all this Anthrax shit's going off. Spend your cash on a broadband connection and download some porn for afew months, that's my advice.

  I get all my dvd's from DVDXtreme using Global priority and have had no problems with it. The thin envelope is okay, but after all it's the disc people want and not the box. You can buy boxes for 50p.

  DO order from DVDXtreme, cus I got my order through at last, it was down to the backlog of mail. But a courtesy email from then would of been sufficient explaining the problems, but I got nothing, so be aware that if you have problems with any order, you might not get a speedy reply - if at all?

  Got my order - phew! took 2 and half weeks. Usually 4 - 5 days. Must of been the backlog of mail.

  I agree with Gab9, but I shall not be ordering untill the situation becomes clear about what is 'acceptable', at the moment it seems nothing but the softest of porn seen late at night on C5. Confused, I am. No offence itended, but I am not into that kind of stuff.

  I have received a reply from DVDxtreme telling me that they are so busy at the moment. I am still waiting for 1 order to arrive that has been over 2 weeks now, and my send order was just sent out on the 27th. My advice would be if you are waiting for an order that is overdue, it may be delayed by the backlog of post in the U.S caused by cancelled flights etc.

  Yeh, I have been waiting for an order that was sent out on the 11/9 (of all days), so I guess there is a backlog of post to shift.

  I am having trouble with this company at the moment. I have previously had NO trouble at all, but they are not responding to ANY emails regarding outstanding orders. I have sent about 6 emails to them. Will post another message if things get sorted, but for now, use someone else, thats my advice.
