A few months ago, Nina Hartley said on the Sex and Relationships forum of her message board that many sex workers won't allow a partner to come inside them unless it's someone they're emotionally intimate with. She said this is a personal boundary issue for them in a way that it typically isn't for non-porn people. The only other (public) group I'm familiar with is the Usenet NG rec.arts.movies.erotica, which is robot-moderated but recently got a filter added, so that you have to put [rame] in the subject line to post something. It definitely seems more than a rumor that Yahoo is busting on age-restricted groups. My brother's local library isn't allowing access to any Yahoo groups because they might be porn. It seems they've gotten a reputation that they're bending over backward (no pun intended) to shake off. And it isn't just inactive groups as someone else suggested. One quite active group that I belong to -- affiliated with a private club, not a porn star -- was deleted without warning a few weeks ago. The mod decided to start over with another host rather than take a chance with Yahoo again.
