  Thanks for the replies, and I remember Ramsey, always a good poster... Hardware I do not personally feel constrained, but when I think back to some of the stuff that Torris, Rog, Patrick Riley (who was scathing but as good a writer as you will see), Luke, etc, etc, used to opine on, it seens there is a great deal that is missing in this "fan-based" forum. This is of course only my opinion, but there is something else that I missed about the old-timers not wanting to go to this format...the freedom. You mentioned "Allowed." RAME had moderators, but anyone had leeway to say pretty much whatever they wanted to. It seems moderators here are a lot more hands on, given there is so much to lose. (see the banner ads...)   Greetings ~ I used to spend a lot of time over at RAME, and only in the last few months have I been lurking around here. I recall suggesting in RAME years ago that they should go to a web-based format, because it allows more use of the web and more personality to our group. The old timers poo-pooed it, wanting it to be just about opinion, without avatars and links and pictures and so forth. I am starting to wonder if they were right. There is good discussion and info here, but there seems to be a very big attitude change. With so many folks in the industry being members (there were some on RAME, but nothing like it is here), the regular posters seem less likely to be honest about having negative opinions for fear of pissing off others or lo...

  Greetings ~ I was thinking about this recently, and only a few come to mind for me.   I don't like it, but it doesn't repulse me - now if you ask my wife, it is a complete turn off.
