  Good to see that a few classics and some decent John Leslie stuff have finally gotten more around the $10 level. But you know what I'm getting at - they're few and far between, compared to the thousands of titles that are out there. Such bargains are rare, assuming you can always hunt them down - but they shouldn't have to be rare in the first place. In other words, in 2005 I shouldn't have to be forced to drop down $20 for a DVD of a John Stagliano movie from 1995. Nobody should.

  Aside from futuristic tech fantasies that might or might not happen in the next few decades, what's just around the corner is pretty interesting, too: 1) Affordable widescreen TVs on which to view high-definiton porno DVDs. 2) Good new material that can cheaply be downloaded from the net, stored on hard drives and saved on DVD blanks (if they get scratched, just make another copy). 3) Commonplace 4 hour DVD adventures. Imagine spending not an hour or two but the WHOLE morning with your favorite pornstars. (7-8am - breakfast. 8 to noon - PORNO. Noon - lunchbreak.) 4) More affordable high-def and compact vidcams for the masses, resulting in tons more good quality amateur sex, giving us all a welcome break from the fake "gonzo" ...

  I noticed this a long while back, and checked again on it recently: In the '90s when the first porn DVDs were coming out, everything was $20 and up. In 2000 most porn DVDs were still in the $20 range, and now here in 2005 I notice that both new DVD productions, and "'80s classics" converted to DVD, are STILL $20 or more! My question then would be where do these DVD sellers get off still charging us $20 or more for 10 and (in the case of "'80s classics") 20 year old flicks?! In the regular R-rated DVD world, old movies go into the $5 bin at the local Boxmart, so why aren't old adult titles at least $10 a pop? (And I don't mean the crummy compilation ones, either.)   Pinnacle systems makes a rather good package with a very easy interface... Yes, I've heard nothing but good things about the Pinnacle line as far as internal software goes. That looks like your best bet in that area right now. However, I get a lot of feedback from fellow film fans wondering why they can't find a good EXTERNAL burner for transfering camcorder material and VHS video material to DVD. After having read about a hundred reviews on stand-alone video to DVD burners, the picture (literally) doesn't look good: I say this because the ones putting out the most recorders in the field (Philips and Panasonic, but strangely not much by Sony) seem to be rife with many glitches, mainly including the following: 1) Problems due to units ...

  ......terabites.......... Sure, even dream about future G5 terabite and billionbite computers - if you want to dream of wasting money. But as long as you have a constantly workable system, a few occassional upgrades are all you need to protect you against the rapidly changing winds of technology. What's really needed for practical things like conversion from VHS to DVD or DVD to DVD, however, is a good stand alone unit, sticking to CD+RW discs for full flexability. Unfortunately, models from Philips and Panasonic have not shown themselves to be glitch free... at least not yet.

  ...but im pretty sure i aint gonna invest a dime in a 2nd or 3rd DVD Standard :) Oh, that's nothing, guys. Then for the year 2010, Sony or Philips will no doubt strike back at us with the "DVD-Grand." That's right, their new improved DVD unit will feature DVDs that store up to 1000 hours of programming!

  Just wondering what the latest is with Seymore Butts (Adam Glasser). Heard he had some legal trouble awhile back, which resulted in him losing the Seymore video rights, but keeping his dot com rights. His original company was bankrupt and therefore in no position to barter or sell what they no longer owned in the first place (including performers' names). In light of that, I had hoped that maybe some new legal wrangling had resolved this problem in Glasser's favor. Needless to say, a video released shortly afterward with a fake "Seymore" was indeed a piece of junk ripoff to all Seymore fans. So, anyone heard anything recently on the real Seymore?

  Tricia Devereaux - over 2000 posts. I am awestruck that someone of Tricia D.'s stature is bothering to personally post so often on this forum. She didn't have to plug her DVDs, since people would have bought them anyway. With a perfect (and silicone-free) body for sex, and a liberal attitude to match, she's always been regarded as easily one of the top 3 porn stars of the 1990s. None of which I would debate.   Do most directors go looking at strip clubs for new talent? Actually, finding new fodder for the porn biz is not as exciting or dangerous as it used to be in the late 1970s, but it hasn't changed much since the late 1980s. Most girls start off stripping in some bar until some freelance photographer tells them they should skip dealing with drunks and instead sign up with a "modelling" office like Jim South's. Such offices then farm out the gals to "newcomer" outfits like Ed Powers and Randy West. Then the ladies wait until they're seen on such "amateur" videos by bigger companies like Vivid, Wicked, Evil Angel, etc. It's much like legit stars in the old studio days would do bit parts for tiny Monogram and RK...
