  While I agree that AVN may not have imposed segregation on the porn awards, the message of segregation is still there. It sends out a message that only female homosexuality is compatible with heterosexuality. This is the underlying message of porn in general. The context of 'segregation' makes all the difference. When it comes from the dominant group, yes, it almost always enforces oppression; but when it comes at least somewhat from below, it serves the interests of a persecuted group. That would be better described as separation, not segregation. It's not AVN's fault if people choose to misinterpret the separation of awards ceremonies.
