- Queer as Folk - Brit TV series 4/12/2000 2:10 AM Actually guys- I purchased the Apex DVD player at Circuit Shitty...I mean City for 179.00 (US Currency) and because is was manufacutered prior to 2/2000 it has a secret menu that allows to bypass all regional coding and macrovision. In addition, it coverts PAL to NTSC if you tell it (in the set up menu) that your television is NTSC. So I ordered Queer As Folk from amazon.co.uk and watched the DVDs!!! The only glich is that in the PAL to NTSC conversion, it squeezes the picture just a tad. Not too distracting. Also, this means I could order other gay-themed DVDs, in Region 2 PAL format: Jeffrey Wilde My Beautiful Laundrette I Think I Do (which is scheduled for a region 1 NTSC release this summer.)
