- Search Extreme 10/27/2009 7:52:55 PM I friend forwarded me this thread, so I felt I should respond. I am one of the owners of Search Extreme, and have been for 10 years. We had a good run - building traffic, making money - from 1999-2007, but as the profit margins of porn sites started turning downward, it became a game of diminishing returns. At the end of 2007, both my business partner and I were working on other time-consuming (and more profitable) side projects, and we decided to put Search Extreme on hiatus. We stopped updating the database in December 2007. As 2008 went on, we saw the adult market continuing to shrink, and knew that if we started up again, it was unlikely for the site to be as lucrative as it once was.
