During a podcast, Dana DeArmond talked about a shoot for PD in a San Francisco convenience store; PD had the owner's permission and it was fine. For outside shoots, I'm sure PD is more discreet than it seems in the clips, or they find places where they know they can get away with it.

Judging by ballpark rates I've heard about and seen (e.g., kink.com has their rates available on their site <link> ), I assume popular non-contract stars earn about $100K a year if they keep a fairly busy schedule. I'm sure someone can and will correct me if I'm wrong. But there are other ways to make money. A lot of girls have other means of revenue through DVD and clip sites, feature dancing, or their own websites. Fans also buy their favorites nice, expensive stuff from wishlists. However, I think porn isn't necessarily as lucrative as many would believe.

Your statement may be largely true. But why would ex-porn performers WANT to become "porn biz cheerleaders" and why is this necessarily an indication of anything? I think any adult actress would be a fool to pass up the chance to work with Keni Styles. He's gorgeous and seems like a total sweetheart! Honestly, though, I think that there just aren't many Asian men in the US biz to begin with. I've only seen a few Asian men in a handful of gonzo performances, most notably the guy who came inside of Allie Sin during her first gangbang. I don't know why there are so few Asian men in the industry. I can guess some reasons (second-generation cultural and family values [although there are so very many Asian women in porn that this one seems tricky and complex], not viewed as profitable/marketable, etc.), but I would mostly be talking out my ass. :D

I don't agree that Sasha has to concurrently perform in porn and in mainstream media to "walk the walk." Even if Sasha never performs in porn again, I can't imagine her ever speaking ill of the industry.
