  The film was edited for content. In the diner scene of the uncut version, Jerry Butler returns to the kitchen after showing the old lady the turkey and then proceeds to fuck it (the turkey)! He pulls out, cums on the sandwich she ordered and then serves it to her. In the bathroom scene, Jerry Butler rapes Lisa DeLeeuw as he holds her head over the bidet while it sprays her on the face. Below the Son of Sam headline of the newspaper the guy is holding, there is supposed to be another article titled "Soap Star Charged With Rape" All of the fight scenes are cut.   I believe any film, regardless of content, that is so powerful it changed the way the American public perceived an entire film genera, made it socially acceptable to view that genera, was so well received it was critically acclaimed, was the first of it's kind to be reviewed in mainstream magazines such as Vanity Fair, made it possible for such feature films as Kirdy Steven's Taboo to play in a theatre on Broadway for 10 weeks, opened the door for other filmmakers to help turn an industry into what is today a multi-billion dollar a year industry, has earned it's 'historic value'.   Obviously I have some misunderstanding as to what it takes for a film or group of films to achieve 'historic value' in the annals of filmmaking. Could you explain to me what it takes? (I am not being sarcastic, I would really like to know) Again not being sarcastic, exactly what disqualifies these films? In what way are my statements "dangerous"?

  Thank you for the links. I have read VCAs reasons for censoring these movies but I find them difficult to believe. Anyone who does any shopping for adult films will find that movies made today go way beyond what is being censored from the golden age classics. I cannot believe that a company can film and market golden shower, scat, vomit, bondage, S&M, torture, etc. films but the golden age classics can't be released uncensored. Even if their reasons are legitimate, and they are never released uncensored again, there were many copies sold before the edits were made and I would love to find them... so if anyone knows where they can be found please let me know.   ...just a thought... In my opinion, golden age classics not only play an important role in the history of adult cinema but in the history of film making as a whole. They were shown in theatres as feature films and many were reviewed in mainstream magazines. Some have even been critically acclaimed and rightfully so. They were not thrown together in a day or two just to make a buck like many (most?) of today's adult &quot;movies&quot;. They are not smut but have true production value.   I have been searching for unedited golden age classics (i.e. Barbara Broadcast, The Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann, etc...) for some time. VCA has done an excellent job in restoring some of these classics but they are censored. I cannot understand why the executives at VCA felt that ANY of the scenes needed to be edited... they are MILD when compared to adult movies that are being LEGALLY made and LEGALLY sold today. Could someone please let me know if there is any place that offers golden age classics in their unedited entirety.
