  Seriouspervert, I don't think there are any &quotrules" on how to talk to women. It all really depends on the situation and on the personality of the women. Remember, though, that women are just like us, they are flesh and blood, and they also probably appreciate the fact that it's not always easy to begin a conversation without sounding like a pratt I suppose the most common way to start conversations (if in a club) is to ask her if you could buy her a drink. I know it probably sounds quite lame but what else can you really say in such an environment?
