  • whats a good program to work on photos 6/13/2004 3:15 AM
I have not worked with PNG files much, but after reading on it some it seems that PNG files can not and will not be saved as multi-layered images the way a PSD or TIFF can. What I have seen from PNG files is they can be compressed down the way a JPG can, do not lose quality the same as a Tiff an can be animated the way a GIF can. So it apparently is a very usable file and is becoming prevalent on the web, but if it can also store multiple layers as a PSD does I would love to find out what program works it best.

One thing to remember when working with photos how good a program you want or need depends on what the end result you want from them. If you only plan on posting to the web to show off or email to friends a cheap or free program is fine, but if you want to show off your work professionally or print from them you want the best results. Why pay $500-5000 for a Digital Camera and then work your images with a giveaway program? Same goes with quality in quality out, if you are using an instamatic digital using Photoshop CS is not going to help them much. Main thing to remember is try before you buy. While some people take to Photoshop or Paintshop like a fish to water. They can be hard to learn and some will be able to learn one or the other a ...

For easy Tasks such as Viewing, sorting, renaming, converting formats pretty much any media file I have to go with <link> For harder jobs such as touching up, color correction or harder jobs Photoshop 7 (haven't played with CS yet)is my top choice with Paintshop coming in a close 2nd. I use Photoshop and Irfanview after almost every photo shoot as well as for many jobs working on my website. www.southern-shots.com

I agree with Don. Spybot or Ad-Aware alone is great, but combining them for the one two punch seems to knock out nearly all the trash generally picked up from surfing the web or even worse downloading &quot;Shareware&quot;. I have to agree with CyberChicken on using Google's Taskbar with the Stopup blocker enabled. It is better than any of the Freeware, Shareware or purchased blockers that I have seen. The only downfall is you may have to run it with a second program if you use P2P programs regularly such as Kazaa, Morpheus or Grokster.
  • Help: Browser Hijack? 5/4/2004 11:34 AM
I had a similar problem Browser Hijack busted me and I got stuck with a bogus file &quot;Bridge.dll&quot;. After running Spybot and Adaware, Norton's I began doing a little searching for a cure and contacting a few friends who deal with this type BS on a regular basis. They recomended a cool program called &quot;HijackThis V1.97.7&quot;. It makes it a lot easier and safer to go into your registry and fix major problems. Run a google and you can find a ton of hits on the program and info about it. Or if you have a specific program causing you trouble check out the forum at <link> to see if there is any specific info on the one causing you trouble it also has links where you can download HijackThis. Warning though as with anytime you begin m...
  • No shipping to Jax, FL from ADE? 7/20/2003 12:09 AM
Unfortunately Alabama got put on the black list back in the early 90s. Still have not found out the full reasoning, but literally overnight several companies quit selling by mail here. Luckily a few still do, but it takes some hunting. People are still fighting the BS and have won a few small battles, but the war is still going on. A few years back they tried cracking down to the point that even adult toys and magazines would have been outlawed as well as rental of any videos that were unrated or above an R rating.

I was just about to write a review on this company when I saw this thread. Before I get started, I want to say this site helped me a lot, in my shopping and is a great place. I do not have much to go by as way of comparison with purchasing Adult DVDs. I just got my player and the last adult Videos I bought were back in the mid 90s prior to local legislation crackdowns scaring most shippers away. I ordered three discs on the 27th (Marissa, Riviera 2 and Pink Lagoon) with the first two arriving UPS Ground on the eighth and the third disc, which was placed on back order, arrived today after being shipped Monday USPS Express(no additional cost to me). I am not sure of how good a deal the shipping is three or less costs $6 per order UPS grou...
