  • Why don't companies just drop vhs? 5/15/2003 12:04 AM
Sammyboy wrote: At this point, why not just got all dvd? I think anybody renting porn or anything else can afford fifty bucks for a dvd player. It'll be a lot less problems for everyone. It seems time. I imagine part of the reason is that DVD's take longer to produce than a VHS. All the DVD extras and photo galleries and BTS takes a while to compile. So you would probably have a longer lead time for a lot of studios. Also the adult market is still geared to rentals and a lot of rentals are still in VHS. Still the extinction of VHS is coming. The market saturation for DVD players is something like 80% and climbing. After a bit VHS is just going to become to friviously and expensive to produce. R
  • How does 1 go about becomming a PornStar 3/24/2003 8:32 PM

I wasnt actually asking becasue I want to be a porn star...well wait, ok Im not asking becasue I think I could be a pornstar, of course I want to be one, but it is just soemthing I have always wondered. Like Outkastfan said, there is this image of a girl moving away from home determined to make it and doing porn cause she sucks at everything and you can get paid in porn to suck....so the actualy discovery process has always interested me. Carly Milne, Uber-Publicist and Porn Pontificator, had a really great interview with Mark Davis on her website http://www.pornblography.com/ that touches on this issue of how to be a porn star. R

I don't know a definitive answer, as I'm sure there ISN'T a definitive answer. However, I am pretty sure that ANY of the fingers left out of penetration would justify that it IS NOT fisting being shown. There probably is no answer, yay or nay. Since the late Seventies, and that Supreme Court Ruling who's dockett number I forgot, obscenty is based on community standards and also on artistic merit. Leaving aside artistic merit for a second it would really depend on your community (and how that community is defined) and what the D.A. wanted to waste his time on. I do recall there was a case in Los Angeles County with Seymour Butts last year were they tried to nail him on a obscenty charge for supposed fisting... Eventually though he plead t...

PornoBoy wrote: I wonder if this is a move to try and avoid government regulation... Probably. Not so much government regulation, but definately regulation from Los Angeles County and the state of California... I think its more than likely that there will be local and state regulations for testing and health inside the adult industry. I think AIM is trying to head them off at the pass and set regulations that are as strict as state regulations are going to be.
  • Ninn Worx: Question about "Fetish The Dream Scape" 3/9/2003 9:03 PM
Gold_Member wrote: "For me, and I am certain most of the porn viewing consumers, I find am unable to jerk off to his videos." I think your making a rather large assumption on behalf of "most of the porn viewing consumers" don't you think. Are you telling me that you think most people can't jerk off oi films by the most highly awarded director in the adult industry? I actually talked to Laurent about Fetish and sequel he's currently making. And basically his take on it was that there is more to porn than just jerking off. He's trying to make a film that people just appreciate because its strange and beautiful. Not just something you can jerk off to. For me watching Fetish was like watching a NIN video, or lookign t...

Hope you wife likes guys with tattoo's. Seems to me it is a contest between the guys to see who can have the most tattoo's. Lee Stone, Pat Myne, Billy Glide, etc. Barret Blade would be my vote. R
  • Why guys finish by masturbating in 90% of movies? 3/2/2003 12:21 PM
The problem is, they often do leave in the whole two minutes. I understand the reasons why male performers need to deliver the pop shot in this way. What I fail to understand is why so much of it is included in the finished product. Why dont editors cut straight to the pop shot, without the entire unnecessary build-up? I can only conclude that most porno editors have no fucking idea what they are doing. Nah, its just that most porno editors are under nearly impossible deadlines and are overworked. I've heard of some editors pushing twenty hour days inside editing bays. Also, it depends on the way a cameraman and director shoot the sex and the pop. If oyu have a director that is fond of transitions (or a company that insist on getting...
  • what's an actual filming of a sex scene like? 2/21/2003 4:34 PM
I've been on...Probably twenty adult sets as a freelance writer for AdultDVDEmpire. Mostly, its surprisingly boring. There's a lot of waiting and waiting and more waiting. Especially on the big budget features. Not to mention long hours. Its usually an eight hour day for me minimum, once or twice its run into the twelve hour mark; the crew and talent are usually there for about two to four hours longer than the press has been, so that gives you an idea. Its kind of surreal. At least its always been for me. I was never a huge porn fan, or viewer before I started freelancing with DVD Empire. I mean, I saw a couple of films here and there, and the internet stuff, but I was never into it. So there you are constantly surrounded by beautiful w...
  • Luke Ford & Organized Crime In Porn 1/28/2003 1:28 PM
I think the first question should be.... "Remy, are you one of Luke Fords alter egos?" LOL, now I guess every one has to prove their existance, and the fact that they are not Luke Ford. Ask Diesel who posts from time to time. We both freelance with DVD Empire, and he's actually seen me and Luke Ford at the same time, in seperate bodies. Remi_Charnel and Luke Ford, thanks for the additional information. Remi, I'm curious, did Bella only do girl-girl scenes? No. On the first day she was in a threeway with Billy Glide and Dee. On the second it was a really good boy girl with Dillion. Check Out the On the Set feature on Pornstar Empire.com

Why did Bella Donna, a world renown porn star, choose the very obscure Setgo to react to the ABC Primetime show, rather than the very well-known Adult Video News, from which she had just received an award? BECAUSE I WAS THERE AND AVN WASN'T. No one from AVN was there. Luke and I were the only ones from the "porn press" that could be classed as writers. The rest were photographers from various magazines. AVN was too busy shooting themselves in the foot...
  • Diane Sawyer interviews Belladonna 1/26/2003 7:26 PM
Skronker, here's the scoop. Years ago, Luke Ford, the person, used to write for www.lukeford.com. The name, Luke Ford, is not his real name. I think his real name is Jason Sechrest. Actually Luke Ford and Jason Sechrest are entirely two different people... Jason is the freelance publicist for Jill Kelly Productions and Wildlife. He's also the host of the KSEX Radio show The Young and Curious. Nice guy, good publicist. Luke Ford is... well, Luke Ford. He is the gossip columnist and, well, the rest is both well known and debateable. I'm staying out of that. But Jason and Luke are NOT the same person. I know this because on two seperate occasions, in November, On Set with Wild Life's "Healing Touch" (see http://www.pornstarempire...
