- APPLE NANO 2ND GENERATION! 12/2/2006 9:46:53 PM I have about 6800 songs in my iTunes library at this point. That's about 1 hex what will fit in my first generation iPod. But that's NEVER been a problem for me. I load the iPod with the music I'm currently interested in and that has never filled it. Putting your entire library in the thing just makes it harder to find what you want to listen to. I've taken to ripping my CD's with Exact Audio Copy and the LAME mp3 encoder. The iTunes ripper sometimes cuts tracks off early or includes skips. I can hear the difference between the iTunes and LAME encoders on some songs. I can also hear the difference between the CD audio and the .mp3 at 240Kbps on some songs. I have never been able to tell the difference at 320Kbps with LAME so that's where I...
