Being a white boy from the north, I can't say I've been adversely affected by that flag; so I'll just link to a few things written by someone with closer ties. <link> <link> <link> *Southern whites may have been fighting for their rights - but I'll go out on the limb where that lynch rope was hung and guess southern blacks could not give 2 weeks notice at their jobs, pack up, and move north if they wanted to try "greener pastures."
