- How to silence a case fan? 7/19/2011 1:38:30 PM Often the bearings on the case fans get dust in them. Your case may not be dusty but the fan internals might be. They are supposed to be sealed and last 100K+ hours before failure but it is a cheap mechanical part. Options: 1. Replace fan and power supply and put sound dampening material in place. http://www.acousticpc.com/quiet_computer_case_insulation.html 2. Add a second fan, that is high volume but quieter, thereby taking the load off the other fan. Place said new fan in a way to lessen the noise. http://www.acousticpc.com/index_quiet_computer_fans.html 3. Move to liquid cooling (a big move of sorts) 4, Buy a new case or move your existing case away and sound proof around it. A case withing a case so to speak.
- Is there anything I can do... 7/19/2011 1:32:51 PM One thing you could try if you think it might be regional, http://www.internetpulse.net/ or ISP based. More then likely it is at the host or someplace "close" to the host. The issue is bandwidth actually costs money on the hosting side, so if you have a site that is fairly popular and a lot of people are "hitting it" at the same time, and say they are throttled to 1MB/sec all those people have to divide that pipe. I know of at least one porn hosting company that purposefully throttles downloads so as to extend the need for membership all while recycling old content repackaged. I term that "blue piping"
- Cathouse 7/10/2010 11:14:59 AM For the record Sammie Sparks aka Sammy Sparks or any of the other spellings was doing porn in 2001, well before this was filmed. That was her real life husband who did uncredited work in various films (Milf Hunter) and shoots some of their "home" movies.

- A better way: event/headliner photo meet & greets 10/7/2009 7:56:31 PM I totally understand the logistics concerns but my rebuttal is as follows: Most of the time there are a couple staff members at the local shop dedicated to this process. Even if there are not often I have seen at least one if not two other people with the talent at some of these. So lets us, for the sake of this exercise consider that staff is not so much of an issue. In timing a develop cycle of a Polaroid and the burn of a single digital image on a CD, with a regular laptop, the CD wins. The Polaroid, takes about 2.5 minutes to fully develop, the CD, about 35 seconds for a 16 MP image. Now I don't disagree that logistically the equipment is much more complex and requires a certain level of skill...but if all things work well, think about t...

- Nikon D 90 Error problems... 9/30/2009 4:57:17 PM I went to Best Buy today...I was able to recreate the error pretty easily with the most of the Nikons there...I am betting at this point 90% of the time it is the rotational issue with the contacts or at least PURELY contact related.
- A question for Drew. 9/30/2009 7:05:44 AM Jacco wrote: Just allow only senior members to vote. Jacco That isn't a half bad idea. Set a "level" for being able to do "voting". A certain number of posts that coincides with a membership level. Spammers et al will never reach it. Then again one must ask, "what purpose does is serve?" "Do the benefits of changing the system outweigh the benefits of leaving it as is?" and ultimately, "What will the unintended consequences be?" If it were me, I would leave it alone and here is why: What you consider a "good review" I may not, good reviews are HIGHLY subjective and certain people have certain tastes. Ever notice how certain movie critics pan movies and then you see it and love it...
- A question for Drew. 9/29/2009 5:45:46 PM I have seen this work both ways on many forums. Little groups form and then it because a war of rating things UP or rating them DOWN. People create multiple accounts to give themselves props...or to fuck with other people....it is quite amazing what people will do for no good reason.
- Nikon D 90 Error problems... 9/28/2009 4:55:29 PM Although I shoot mostly Canon, I have some Nikon's and have had similar problems with both. As suggested, update the firmware, clean the contacts, sometimes there is a problem with a memory card. Ultimately most of this boils down to a lens to body fit problem with the lens mounting shoe/bracket being slightly out of alignment or not locking up correctly. Try this, turn the camera on, then see if you can rotate the lens a smidgen without depressing the release. See also if it feels "loose" in relation to the body. If it errors during your test, you now know the problem and send it back.
- Windows 7: Maybe not so bad 5/18/2009 3:16:02 PM jrv wrote: Proxy wrote: I also blame a LOT of the the problems of Vista on lazy MFG's and shitty drivers written by their lazy as shit coders. Few hardware manufacturers have standing armies of programmers to write device drivers and none of them have unlimited budgets. The constant churn of driver model changes in Windows has meant that device drivers are always in a "settling down, not quite there" state. The reason why XP drivers tend to work better is mostly because the driver models didn't change for several years after XP was released. Microsoft *does* have standing armies of programmers and this is why they don't "get it" on the need to minimize churn. It may be different now, but up until XP the senior guys coul...
- My fitness trainer is a sex offender 5/18/2009 1:21:59 AM Bob wrote: Clam Digger wrote: The question comes down to, if a person has paid their debt to society, should they be able to come back into society and move on with their lives? There isn't an easy answer. They're paid their debt to society? As determined by whom? A jury? A judge? Pursuant to state-mandated sentencing guidelines? A particular parole board? In a state, maybe, with overcrowded prisons? More than one of the above? If you've paid "your debt to society" (maybe, whatever that means), then you're free to walk around with the rest of us (subject to restrictions if you're on parole). But we're still entitled to make our own choices about whom we want to be our personal trainers. Freedom of association and all that -- a ...

Here's an obvious question. How do we make the people who did this to us suffer? I would consider any form of no longer authorized torture methodologies as per the School Of Americas rendition handbook. Myself I prefer the method of water boarding as improved on by the British SAS. They add compression via boards and weights to the chest of the subject making it MUCH harder to breathe deep. Granted it may induce Respiratory acidosis more rapidly...aren't you glad you asked?
