  I was browsing the reviews on AdultDVDTalk... <link> And I notice a lot of reviews are 3 to 3 1/2 stars. Some are 4 stars and very few are 4 1/2 to 5 stars. So what makes something 5 stars?   I think the porn industry has been lieing to us. I think they are making more money than ever before. I don't see how they couldn't be. They say they aren't, but we then hear how it's still a billion dollar a year industry. Where is all that money going then? Before the internet, people had to buy porn DVDs in brick and mortar shops. The DVDs cost around $30-$40 as many shops marked them up to cover the costs of operating. This meant fewer DVDs were sold because people could only afford so many. Anyone who has ever been in a shop knows they rarely carry the DVDs you actually want. And a lot of people are nervous about actually going into these places. Seems like that's how most porn directors are doing it nowadays. They shoot a series and it then gets pulled in under a companies umbrella and then they are shooting more porn for that company.

  To get it off the ground, just find 1-3 porno studios to partner with you to put their catalog on there to get it off the ground.   Create a website platform where people can upload an individual porn scene and charge $1.99 or $2 to download the entire thing. 10% goes towards bandwidth/maintenance 10% goes towards profit ---- 20% $2 - 20% = $1.60 back to the uploader per scene. Considering the average porno DVD has around 5-6 scenes on it, that comes out to around the same profit on an actual porno DVD if not more. 5 x $1.60 = $8 profit to uploader. Hard to beat that profit margin with DVD sales. That then gives pornstars more control to release more exclusive content to make a fortune.   I do videography work, have a nice camera and editing machine. Have lights and know everything there is to know about shooting and delivering high quality videos. But sometimes it's hard to find corporate work and I think about getting into shooting pornos. All I got to do is find some guys/girls who have also considered it and do a split with them on the first few DVDs in a hot new porno series. Where I pay them nothing on the front end and instead pay them a percentage on the backend. That way they stand to make a lot more money off the deal in the long run.
