For it to really make sense I think you have to consider the alternatives. For example, I don't want to see vaginal foreplay, then vaginal sex, then anal foreplay before the anal sex... That would slow the scene down after the sex itself has actually started... way to ruin the scene...? The only sound alternatives I can think of both have problems.. One is just to mix vaginal and anal sex together. While I've seen it done, I'm fairly sure there's an increased risk there for infections and such, so that's pretty much out as a standard.
