  Hi Folks, As a rule I've up to now avoided R18 releases completely as they have been vetted by the BBFC - British Board of Film Classification (aka Censorhip) for the non-UK folk on the board. The BBFC is well known in the past for its petty censorship of mainstream films. However things have moved on significantly in the last few years and adult films showing full intercourse can now be purchased legally in licensed Sex Shops. These films are assigned an R18 category. This is momentous progress for this rather prudish country. The films are of course vetted by the BBFC and sequences &quot;likely to deprave or corrupt&quot; removed As a matter of principle I'll not purchase any censored title and I've avoided R18, preferring the US/Europe...

  You can't go wrong with Adult DVD Now. They were the first US store to actively court the UK market and are well established. I've used them off and on for around 7 years now and only 1 package has gone missing (which they kindly reshipped FOC) They aren't the cheapest around but they are fast and reliable with good customer service on the rare occasion that things go wrong. I placed my last order early Friday morning (UK time) and received it safely this morning (Tuesday). I'd say they easily satisfy the first 4 of your criteria, I'm not sure of the 5th though. One of their reps (Jay I think) used to post here in the past - perhaps he can advise on their behalf. BTW, I'm in no way associated with ADN other than being a satisfied customer. ...

  Hi Folks, One of those trivial things I've always wanted to mention but have never gotten around to it until now. I'm a UK porn fan and a lot of the porn fodder comes from the US market. Special thanks to Adult DVD Now for taking the risk many years ago, leading to the opening of the UK porn floodgates. Now I notice that just about all the US titles feature an FBI warning /&quot;Custodian of Records&quot; splash screen at the beginning. The skip buttons are disabled for anything up to 60 seconds during the time. A few titles allow you to ffwd through the splash screen but these are few and far between.   Granted they aren't the cheapest but I've always found their service ultra fast and IMHO second to none; on the one occasion in the last 6 or so years when a shipment went missing it was replaced with no hassle. Anyway I placed on order on Thursday November 3rd, shipped on Friday November 4th, safely received on Monday morning November 7th. Wow! I guess I'll always have a soft spot for these guys as they were the first to take the risk and ship to the UK in the bad old days when most of the other US companies didn't want to know.   You do realise that about a month from now you will get a nice letter from Fedex invoicing you for 1) An administration fee 2) Customs duties 3) VAT The letter takes a while but it will turn up Not dissing FiveStar in any way. The Fedex charges are a fact of life.

  Just to follow-up to let everyone know that I've been contacted by Ethan from FiveStar DVD, who has very kindly agreed to reship my order. Fingers crossed! The UK has come quite a long way since the bad old days of risking potential prosecution or personal visit from C&E for the heinous crime of importing adult consensual porn; still such packages must run the guantlet of C&E and the UK postal service and it will be some time yet before the process is entirely hassle free. My thanks to FiveStar to restoring my confidence somewhat in importing porn. Fivestar and other suppliers who bother to ship internationally certainly get 'dissed' when things go wrong so it is only right that they get an honourable mention when praise is due. Meanwhil...

  Hi all, Been a week since the shipping notification from FiveStar with no sign to date. Global Priority generally takes around 3 to 4 days max. Nothing in the order to warrant a C&E seizure IMHO. Just curious as to whether anyone else is experiencing delays, or is is just me? pb3

  All, I faintly remember a while back on the forum that someone else from the UK posted regarding a similar experience. Ordered a package from Five Star which turned up today after about 4 days (looks like shipping is back to normal) The package containing 2 DVD shipped in a padded jiffy bag as normal, but showed signed of having been opened and examined by customs. However the package had only been partially resealed (by stapling) and the contents inside were clearly visable, to the extent of being in danger falling out the jiffy bag entirely. The postman forced the whole lot through the letterbox (he usually leaves the packages outside the door due to the letterbox size) as apparently he was loathe to leave it outside the door (in a f...

  Just curious as to whether US to UK mail is being delayed due to increased security as a result of the WTC disaster. Order from Adult DVD Now shipped via Global Priority about 8 days ago and no sign; usually take 4 days max. Nothing in the order to warrant a customs seizure IMHO.   Hi all, A couple months back I &quot;defected&quot; from ADN to FiveStar DVD due to their lower prices, frequent discounts and fast shipping (3 to 4 days) via Global Priority Mail. Sadly FiveStar seems to have scored an &quot;own goal&quot; by their switch to shipping through Denmark. Orders now take at least 2 weeks to appear after shipping notification. The first time this happened I thought my order had been seized or stolen This lead me to place an order (orginally destined for FiveStar) with ADN last Friday evening.   I've seen a lot of good things said about Five Star DVD in the forum, and having checked out their website I was impressive by their catalogue and their prices when compared to AdultDVDNow. I've ordered over 30 DVDs via AdultDVDNOW with no problems whatsoever, but am sorely tempted to defect to Five Star DVD given their much lower prices. Just wondering whether any of ADT's UK suscribers have used Five Star DVD. If so do they ship without the DVD cases? I must admit prefer this method of shipment what with the uncertainty regarding UK Customs and porn :( Any info to help me make up my mind much appreciated. pb3
