  This post is fao Jay & friends. Are you having problems with receiving e-mails recently? I've e-mailed twice about returning faulty discs for replacement, but have not had a reply. Out of curiosity, is anyone else awaiting e-mail replies from ADN ?

  Not too bothered about the increase in shipping Jay old chap, as long as it works is fine with me. Better than paying 25-30 per disc plus shipping from the UK sites. Your system still works out to be more of a bargain (unless we adopt the Euro as our currency !!!!!)

  Who did you order it from ? If it was AdultDVDNow, there should be no problems in getting in touch with them & they'll replace it with thr H/C version. Happened to me when I ordered "Lotus". Received the cable version and let them know. I returned it and they sent me the hardcore version a few days later. whoever you ordered from, there should be no problems in exchanging it.

  Why don't you try e-mailing them. I had a similar problem whereby all the discs I ordered were on back-order. They were kind enough to point out that if you need the whole lot sent as a single shipment they will appear as "back-order" on your order status. They said that most out of stocks usually come within a week. Get in touch with them, they are quite helpful.

  Just like to add to the positive feedback wrt ADN. I have never had any problems with their service. Any faulty discs I received, have been swiftly replaced, and one order which went awry (no, it wasn't seized by HM Thieves & Customs) was promptly replaced within a week of e-mailing them. I have recently received a very large order (26 discs: don't ask!!) in record time, and the back orders on this shipment arrived within a few days of the main shipment. I realize that the success rate in UK shipping has fallen somewhat, due to C & E being a lot more intensive in the examination of US mail, but ADN is by far the best option in obtaining adult DVDs from the US.   Woohoo: I kinda doubt it. The R18 films sold in sex shops may show a little more than was previously permitted, but they are still cut to shreds when compared to the original versions. I wouldn't bother wasting your time and money on them. As far as I know, only 2 companies ship from within the UK. vidshop.com and yourchoice.com but their prices for DVDs are extortionate. I've been lucky so far with our friends at adultdvdnow, but since I haven't ordered for about a month or two, I'm not sure what the odds are on having my next shipment seized, Guess I'll give it a rest for about six months until things settle down, or Jay lets us know whether the new shipping method is more reliable.

  What I would like to know is: WHY BOTHER IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!????? Surely it is more work for the studio to edit down a master and then release it, rather than release the original master in the first place. I really fail to see the logic of this. Unlesssss.....the idea is that mugs like us buy the chopped up version in the first place, then complain to the studios about it, who in turn "cave in" to the pressure and release the unedited version (which is their plan all along), which us poor saps buy again, and the studios make their money twice over. Call me cynical if you will, but doesn't this strike anyone as a little bit insulting ?

  I do apologise if my post caused any embarassment to you. It seems that I was under the misapprehension that, due to the items being categorized as back ordered on the order status page, you did not have them in stock. I stand corrected in that they were only listed thus due to the delay in shipping that I requested. Once again, sincerest apologies for any misunderstanding the post may have caused.

  Big Dunc: I'm not sure if HM Thieves & Customs monitor this forum, but I'm pretty sure they keep thir eyes out on usenet. A few people have dropped hints on the NGs there how adultdvdnow ship their discs to the UK. Silly buggers! They should just keep their yaps shut! No point in making Customs' job any easier. By the way, I only informed adultdvdnow that my discs hadn't arrived. I had no idea that they'd been seized. A month after the replacements arrived, I got the notice of seizure. It took them 2 months to let me know that they'd confiscated them. The wheels of beauraucracy grind on ever so slowly.

  Just had a notice of seizure from HM Thieves & Customs about an envelope of 3 discs that got confiscated from adultdvdnow. Looks like the 100% shipping has fallen a bit now. Still, before I new they'd been seized , I informed them & they sent replacements which DID arrive It appears that Jack Straw's Jackboot Brigade has twigged to the shipping method used by our esteemed friends at adultdvdnow. gonna have to put the orders on the back burner for a while now . Anyone have ideas on how long C & E keep records of seizures? Will anyone else admit to having shipments from adultdvdnow confiscated?

  Jay. I do hope Customs in the UK are not monitoring this forum as they do usenet. If so, they will be particularly ever more vigilant in examining anything resembling the type of shipping you have just described. Hope not, coz otherwise they'll have my order from you in no ime flat. Up til now, 100% success rate in shipping. Hope it lasts

  For sheer size and squishiness it's got to be Christy Canyon. Trinity Loren had gorgeous boobs you could drown in. For petite, I'd go for Tammi Ann or Tamara Longley. They have been good enough to offer to resend the missing discs. I originally ordered 6, which they split into two lots of 3 for shipping & sent them at the same time. Got half of the shipment but the other half vanished. Just waiting for them to resend the discs. As far as customer service goes, they're excellent. They'll also replace faulty discs without question, as long as you send the original back. Recommended them to a friend of mine & he's well on his way to a big collection already. The only drawback with adultdvdnow is that their catalogue isn't as extensives as, say, Excalibur's ...

  I've ordered from adultdvdnow over the last 6 months and have over that time received well over 40 DVDs. As you say, they are very reliable, most shipments get to me well within a week. As far as shipping costs go, yes, they are rather pricey, but, usually ordering a maximum of 6 discs at a time it generally works out pretty reasonable considering that if I ordered from elsewhere I'd have a lovely collection of customs seizures notices and a proctological examination by HMC&E. The only gripe I have about them is that their range is not as wide as Adultdvdempire or fivestar. I've been waiting for them to get titles like "Phoenix Rising" and "Penetrator 2" which have been out for ages. That aside, the company gets a "thumbs up" from me. By th...

  I've given up completely on Vivid. I will never watch another of their DVDs again. They don't care about the product they release, usually a totally edited film which insults the customer who is expecting a high quality adult film, which they purport to mnufacture. The multiple angle facilty on their discs is detracting from the quality of the movie, and in many cases, the running time of the DVDs is much shorter than the VHS. I'm voting with my wallet. Vivid have insulted my intelligence and will have no more custom from me. If everyone did the same, it might make them sit up and notice themselves for the bottom-feeders they are. Apologies if this sounds rather vehement, but it is something I feel quite strongly about.
