  • How soon will porn switch to a 16:9 aspect ratio? 5/15/2006 2:11:10 AM

I think all to Digital Playground's releases are 16x9 and I have noticed a lot of Wicked's are as well now. Don't know if they all are. To be honest I am not sure if the Gonzo companies should go that route. A lot of the appeal for that type of film (at least for me any way) is the "you are there" feel to the filming style. Not sure if that would translate well into the larger screen format. That's interesting cause the HDTV pushers state that 16:9 is a more natural field of vision due to most people's eyes being structured in a rectangle not a square so you might actu...

As soon as they start using HD camera's and when the majority of us are using HDTV's which will still be awhile. Right now, HDTV's are a novelty for the wealthy but in few years they will be common house and every TV in a WalMart will be high def when the prices drop due to mass consumption.
  • Vinyl Remastered to CD. Sound like Bullshit? 5/11/2006 11:29:34 AM

You need the needle if you want the purest form of analog since in itself, a record player is a musical instrument of it's own since you can hear the music playing without an amplifier. That site says there is no digital conversion but that laser is connected to a processor of some kind and that isn't true pure analog as they state.

Do you realize how many computers had anti-virus programs running when Blaster struck? Were those million protected? They thought they were. The advice shouldn't be to use anti-virus programs as it should be not to visit crack sites, use P2P programs, open unknown emails or surf for porn without Firefox. I do tech support for PC's and I can't tell you how many problems people have with anti-virus programs clogging up their system as if it's a virus itself. Again, if you know what you're doing, you don't need one, if you don't know what you're doing, than I ask, what the hell are you doing with a PC in the first place if you don't care to learn it, which is my biggest beef with my customers.

Yeah, I have VLC and MPC, they're ok, and yes, VLC does play everything, even Bin and Cue files (if it was a movie of course). I was hoping for something more flashy with more effects or so, I will keep looking...

If you know what your doing, don't use any. If you ever think you've encountered a virus, just use Trend Micro's online search and quickly scan your System32 folder...

I was wondering what others use or suggest for a media player. I like to be able to easily control rewind, fast forward, slow mo, zoom, stuff like that. I have used Zoom Player, but it seems a little shaky. Also, is there a newer codec package like FFDshow that is any better? I currently use AC3 and FFDshow, just wondering if anyone knows of any better...thanks.
