- movie recomendations for "Girls Kissing" ? 1/19/2004 2:08 AM Viv Thomas is a guy who shoots for Playboy UK. The "Deep Kiss" films are terrific, but what you should know about them is the premise: a woman finds pairs of Japanese girls on the street or the beach, asks them to come back to a bus with one-way mirrored windows. Once inside they kiss. An experienced lesbian joins one or both of the girls in some of the pairs and tries to go a little further with them. Everything is done beneath the clothes and if anything ever does show on camera, the censors mosaic it out. But the great thing about these movies is that this rarely happens (it's a case of a director actually making censorship work in their favor). Also the kissing is almost entirely French kissing (hence the name, "deep ki...
- Silent Porn Movies 12/23/2003 10:20 PM Try bluevanities.com They have categories such as "Classic Stags," "European Loops," and "Peepshow Loops." I've seen some silent lesbian loops dating back, I think, to the 40s, definitely the 50s. They tend to put a musical soundtrack over the images, but you can always hit mute.
- TonyC's Hate List 9/23/2003 10:34 PM A good editor uses cuts to cause the audience to perceive changes in perspective, time, and place in a way that is natural and logical. This is a good way of looking at a scene of Joe Blow heading off to the mall or something, but I would suggest that sex scenes demand something more. Oh, youre rightdont get me wrongbut you didnt mention anything about the psychology of editing and how that can affect a scene. Sure, in a sex scene a reaction shot is a logical change in perspective, but if inserted properly it is much more than that because it increases the level of erotic tension. (Of course, this is only one small example.) I mention this only because, without the psychological dimension of editing, a sex scene will probably be nothing mo...
- The Problem with Porn Features 9/17/2003 10:40 PM Good thoughts, but I want to bring up something I dont think has been mentioned. Forgive me if my presentation sucksI wasnt expecting this topic. Given that its true that sex in an otherwise non-sexual plot is inherently gratuitous, I wonder why it hasnt occurred to filmmakers to attempt to develop a kind sexual language that would allow the story to move forward even DURING sex scenes. Viewers would have to accept that not every scene in a film will provide the same sort of actionand I dont know if the majority could do that, though I think porn might be the better for the additional variety, not to mention the increased coherence (for those of us who care about such things). Stereotyping is a relatively simple way to go about this. I th...
- ginger lynn's accusations towards ron jeremy 9/1/2003 7:13 PM While it's certainly true that those of us not privvy to the facts and/or the evidence of the alleged crime can offer little if anything of value in the case itself, that needn't stop us from commenting on the more ridiculous remarks to come from it. In the AVN article, Jeremy is quoted as saying, "After having sex with someone on the beach, why would you not want to have sex with them?" And, "We were very good friends, how can you rape a friend?" Hey, Ron, I've got a question of my own. How self-centered, egotistical, and ignorant do you have to be to believe this crap?
- bad porn vs good porn 8/29/2003 7:27 PM I think the essential difference between the Golden Age and the present is that when porn was entirely or mostly confined to theaters it tended to look to Hollywood for its inspiration, which led to an emphasis on writing and acting. Now porn looks to porn itself for its inspiration. Brad Armstrong's "Sex on Film" is a good illustration of this: Joel Lawrence wants to become a porn filmmaker and to learn how he watches other porn movies. If porn had half the sense of humor now that it had in the old days, this scenario would have dripped with irony. Here, sadly, it's played straight.
