  I'd say the 70s and early 80s were the golden age of creativity and artistry, the real attempts at making films in the adult industry. The late 80s through the mid 90s was the golden age of the Vivid girl; the barbies with bolt-ons and the age of the true superstars. The millenium and beyond has been the golden age of gonzo, the closest the industry has come to displaying true hot sex. Its still a work in progress, obviously.
