  I haven't posted for a while, but I figured that I would chime in. I'm 27 and my partner of 5 years is 25. We totally trust each other so we definitely have unprotected sex.   According to gaypornstars.net, director William Higgins was described as "jealous of his actor's youth and beauty" so he would make them perform unsafe sex acts to demean them. His films were primarily shot in the 80's, the same time as the scare of the AIDS epidemic was causing fear in the industry. This news was new to me, so i was wondering if anyone had heard similar things about this director. btw, this info was obtained from a review of his Frat House Memories film.

  Wow! This is some great news! I would venture to say that this is one of the first big name studio to enter this arena, in adition to Titan Media and Bjorn productions. While other studios like Falcon and Bel ami wait, these studios will thrive and will help to build a strong customer following, which may hurt those other studios. I am really eager to see some of those Dirk Yates titles reach dvd!

  Wow!!! What a great deal! Thanks for posting this Ken! I picked up a World of Men dvd, and Fluid... both high quality Atomic titles for a low, low price. I never would have thought that I would see the day when these quality titles would be this low!!!

  whoopsies.. I did mean to write the 4th man. :P Sorry. The film really is great! Even for it being made in 1979, (but released in the US in 84') the film is much more erotic than something that you would find now in gay cinema. I thought that Wild Reeds was a good film, although it was not solely a gay film. I also found that the girl in the film had some weird moods that were solely French.:P Hmmm.. on the same subject of France.. I wonder if the film Pedale Douce will ever be released in America. It was a sort of straight friendly gay comedy. I saw it in France in 96'... but I haven't heard any word of it being released here. Oh yeah.. the French actress Fanny Ardant is in it, for those of you wondering.

  I tend to be interested in more romantic films, so I recommend Boy's life and Beautiful thing. Boy's life is already out on dvd, although I heard that the transfer wasn't that great. Beautiful thing is out on dvd, but unfortunately not in America! I think that Maurice would make for a great dvd, especially if it received some sort of a SE treatment. One can only hope of course. Also, I hope that Paul Verhoeven's classic, the 3rd man , makes it to dvd some time in a non dubbed version with his commentary. It should be noted that this film boasts one of the sexiest church scenes around!

  I totally agree with ya net guy.. you took the words right out of my mouth. I think that it would be great to talk about non porn gay films as well.. it could possibly lead to more posts, since this forum is a little slow. Thanks Net guy,... I couldn't wait.. I bought Island Guardian. So far, the dvd is quite hot, and the photography is great. It doesn't do as much for me as some of those Bjorn titles, but it is very nice. i would give it an A-

  I agree Bruno that paying 40 dollars for a title is rediculous. Paying that regular fee.. somewhere around 69.99 is insane!! I can sometimes get the good titles ( ATOMIC ones that is) for 30 something dollars, but with a coupon.. and there are only so many coupons. : ( I still don't get it why straight porn, even the good stuff, is soo cheap incomparison to gay porn. It seems that alot of straight dvds can be often had for less than 30 dollars. Gay porn however, is just soo much more, and add to that..... the gay dvd's don't have much to offer in the way of special content.... and the selection sucks!! Where are some of those classic titles like Powertool, Big Guns, or Sailor in the Wild?

  I think that the maturation of gay dvd's will be similar to that of regular dvd's: one or 2 companies will offer alot of extra material for low prices. Eventually, the other companies will follow and slowly begin to offer more. In regualr dvd, it was Warner Bros that offered alot of bang for the buck. Now for gay dvd, there are some companies that offer some special material, but it tends to be not too good and the quality (not to mention the models) aren't that good. I guess only time will tell.

  I guess I shouldn't kid myself anymore by thinking that American porn can be any good anymore.. some of the best titles out there are by the European directors.. while stuff like Humidity is.. well.. only, slightly humid.

  I wonder if they will release titals under their own company, Titan, rather than have Atomic video take care of the job. Although Atomic does a wonderful job, more companies in the market could equate to more features being promoted and possibly lower prices.
