  well, fatalbert, i'm not sure how that relates to the search issue...but let me be the first to apologize for the poor rental performance. if you care to email me personally, i'd love to investigate this instance of a "more than 2 week turn around." i certainly have not seen this kind of lag in the 2-plus years of our rental division, and i am interested in finding out what happened. thanks for the input. mikeb@dvdempire.com

  we have been upgrading some hardware this week and performing routine maintenance. the search should work now...also, i know the recent releases haven't' updated since 10/7, this should be fixed shortly...

  mission, unfortunately, it doesn't matter if i personally knew all the girls you listed. without proper documentation from the producing studio we cannot show hardcore content. period. it sucks for everyone. not to sound whiney, but it takes an awful lot of resources (read mulah, dinero, $$$) to produce and store the content that we do - screen shots, scene indexes, etc. so trust me, we would LOVE to keep showing our 100,000+ screen shots! hopefully, the courts will decide in our favor and strike down these ridiculous regulations. until then, we thought this would be a cool way to show adult entertainment fans that we feel their frustration.   M.B., I spoke with our Customer Service department, and they recall your inquiry. I'm not sure if you have a spam folder, but if so you may want to check it for their response. To answer your question, though, we don't ship Global Priority to Canada because we are researching a more efficient solution for a cost effective shipping option to the Great White North.   Currently, we only ship from PA. I know that sucks, but we've had west coast people tell us it takes 5 days to reach them. We are currently searching for a solution to this issue.

  GaySatyr, Not sure if anyone's told you this previously, but I believe you are aiming at the wrong target. While there is a slight difference between retailers pricing of gay DVD's, the bottom line is the same. Gay product is much more expensive to buy for us--whether it be from a wholesaler or direct from the studio. As I'm sure you can tell, this handcuffs the retailers from a pricing standpoint unless the retailer is willing to take a hit on their markup--which is already significantly less than with straight DVD's. No big secret here, mainstream studios do exactly the same thing. As far as not catering to the gay customer, I disagree when it comes to the Empire.   Our used section is, as Drew notes, in the Beta stage. We plan to implement better navigation tools once we have all the kinks worked out. I will say that we do currently have used stock available for sale, it's just not that easy to see the titles. You have to either select the "used" link on the home page (left side browse section), or just go to the product that you like and see if there is used stock available. There is a "FAQ" available to explain the used procedure. A more official announcement will be made once we have completed testing and refinement of the program.   I agree, most online stores list Ed Powers movies under New Machine instead of under 4-Play which should be it. ...actually, New Machine releases Ed Powers DVD's, and 4-Play releases his titles on VHS.

  movielover, The orders dept. continuously attempt to purchase the item. We do not cancel the item until we have confirmation from the studio regarding discontinuation of the title in question. I know that's not really a solid answer, but unfortunately it's the best answer I can give that covers titles labeled "On Order (Currently Unavailable)." If you would like information on a specific title I might be able to help a bit more. We get a fair amount of requests similar to this, and it frustrates me that I can't be of more help. Usually, titles that fit this description aren't bestsellers - let's call them "B" list titles. A studio might run 5,000 copies of a "B" list title. Maybe it takes 6 months to sell th...
