  maya - I didn't but I went the day day at right about 5 pm and she was still there but she didn't help me coz she was in another window.   BigBob, thank you for alerting us. I saw this problem once while running Spybot and found that one of the registry keys which is concering the security center was changed or so. I deleted it and now the thing always showed in my taskbar alerting me that "automatic updates is set to download and update only after checking with me and that my Norton anti virus is active but its status is unkown.

  What mega codec package are we talking about here? I use the Storm Codec 5. It is basically a tweaked windows media classic 6.4 with basically all kinds of codecs. It even plays quicktime .mov files :) so no need for quicktime player or real player in your computer anymore :)
