- Anyone who uses condoms...a question 1/13/2001 10:40 PM Hi everyone. My girlfriend and I use condoms (despite my urging for alternatives, but that's a different story). Anyway, I'm wondering if different textures of condoms really make a big difference to a woman. I'm not referring to thickness, but ribbed vs. smooth, etc. We've been together for a while, and I've never really tried anything other than the smooth kind. But I recently read in Maxim that ribbed is the prefered type among many women. Quite frankly, it seems a little unnatural to use ribbed and they don't seem like they'd feel that much different, but I'll be more than happy to try anything that will please her. Any suggestions as far as this goes? Thanks!
