  We've been in the BushDVD since November - so only about 3 months but in that time we've enjoyed the selection and the service. The mail as been taking 2-4 days. We are still challenged by the various genre, likes and dislikes so rental really works well for us.

  We suggest a brief "time out" until some of you folks chill - hey this is supposed to be fun! We posted (above) what our email said and it seems reasonable to us. BTW we have a 4 DVD plan - that's $1 increase per month or $12 per year.... that's about 1/2 the purchase price of a single DVD that we might watch once. Renting (as opposed to buying) works great for us and we suspect the same for many people. Bush gets our business until there's a significant problem. Happy Viewing!

  We just rec'd our price change notification. Also part of the email was: "Since launching our service almost three years ago, we've added more than 12,000 titles to our selection bringing our total to more than 18,000 titles. We continue to add more than 400 new releases each month. In addition, we will be adding reviews, performer photos and many other features to the website. Improvements such as these, as well as postal rate changes have increased the cost of doing business." I guess everyone must make their own decision.   Patrick Riverside's comment makes sense to us. If our 4 DVD plan takes us 10-15 deep on our list then an 8 disk plan would need at least 30-40 in the queue. Anything with a "Long wait" status is usually a lost or damaged title so we don't count on that. Happy Viewing!

  Every woman is different - what's important is the willingness to try, watch, fast forward, turn off, discuss - we've watched a few titles that the reviews lead us to but turned out to be 2 thumbs down - no problem, win some, loose some. Renting (via BushDVD) has been great for us because we don't know what we like yet so we just send it back and wait for the next DVD... Pagoda had a great point - even the best movie seems to have a few objectionable scenes - we just look at each other, shake our heads and fast forward.... no big deal - remember this is supposed to be fun.   I (Steve) have to add this: I was online 1 day and checked our queue - "WOW every title is available 'now'" - that was amazing, then within an hour the status changed to "short wait" - so I guess I was looking at the queue before and then after the "shipping agent" ran. Our selections (4) went about 10 deep. Per Bush's advice we try to keep 30 in the queue - with 18K titles, that's not hard to do. As we've posted in other threads, we have experience in USPS delivery times and Bush doesn't appear to throttle mailings - we believe our delays have been due to the USPS.   We are "couples" viewers and unfamiliar with the adult genre. We've had Bush for about 6 weeks now and in that time we previewed about 24 dvd's - many of which we watched briefly and "suddenly lost interest!" The value has been excellent on a $/dvd basis. Their web site is very lean. We've not found the "ratings" to be too helpful and prefer other reveiw sites such as this one (ADT). As we've posted before here, we don't understand Bush's algorithim for filling orders - i.e. who gets what when - perhaps there's a PhD thesis in mathematics there for some bright student. We don't expect Bush to disclose that too us either but we do wonder... hopefully they are fair but there's really no way to know for sure. We d...

  If we were starting a rental deal at this time of year we'd probably wait about a week or so.... just an opinion - our friends in both UPS and USPS say that they will catch up by year end. Hope that helps. Happy viewing and New Year!

  Here's what they replied to us when we posed the question of single returns: "When we receive a DVD the next one is automatically processed for shipment. We prefer that your return the DVDs in pairs as this reduces breakage and loss." We have the 4 disk plan and it's working well for us - Xmas has added some USPS delay but that's expected. We have no reason to leave Bush. Their "ratings" are simple votes so don't put too much value there - we read reviews here to see if we like a title. Since we are "couple viewer" it is taking awhile to find what we like and rental is perfect for that.   XRentWebMaster: Thanks for your response here - you made a very good point - to be cost effective rental companies must use USPS - imagine the cost of FedEx or some other overnight - we might as well buy the DVD. 2 DVD's cost about $.60 to mail using USPS - that's really a bargain (and I don't work for USPS). The down side is possible delays. We've had lots of experience with mass mailings with unpredictable results. Some envelopes take 1 week, some take 2 days, some 2 weeks... with no rhyme or reason. I admire you for gambling your entire business model on the efficiency of USPS. Hang in there and keep posting here - we appreciate hearing from company representatives!

  OK - we did a little test and here are the results: Monday - Mailed 2 mailers (4 disks) simultaneously - in time for the last daily pickup by the USPS from Austin to San Diego; 1 mailer takes 2 days to return to Bush then 5 days to get back to us (not counting Sunday); 1 mailer takes 4 days to return to Bush then 3 days to get back to us (not counting Sunday). So - both exactly 7 days (not including Sunday) for a round trip. Don't know about you but .... that's GREAT for us - certainly satisfactory. It also proves that the USPS can vary quite a bit in either direction. At this point a MUCH BIGGER issue is WHAT type of movies do we like - as any reader of ADT would already know. The reviews are helpful but not as good as a real viewing ...

  Good to see a thread about BushDVD. We came here to get info on the best DVD rental shop - understanding that some will be better than others in different ways. We are trying BushDVD to start. So far, so good. We are running 3-4 days mail time to Texas. Our queue is about 30 titles. We are not getting our highest priority picks but that's understandable since they are popular titles. We don't know their algorithm for filling the queue - i.e. when a title is in stock, what rules determines who gets it next. I'm sure there is a delicate balance between keeping customers happy with multiple copies of titles and increasing profit by NOT buying too many titles... We try to keep in mind that rental porn in a "Netflix model" means hop...
