  This may sound strange but I'd focus on distribution and promotion strategy before you focus on making the movie. Making the movie can be rough but the real challenge is selling the movie. Most people make the mistake of trying to make a better movie and not making a better sells plan. Most of us can make a better hamburger than McDonalds but few of us can sell a burger better than McDonald's. Yes being on the east coast is harder because of distribution issues. And distributors don't need you and usually treat with you disrespect. I've learned a lot from my boss at Platinum Pictures Inc. That brings me to another subject. Trademark and trademark defense. Most people have never heard of us but they have heard of Platinum X Pictures even...

  I think people just like truth in advertising. If Lex is on the cover as a performer the expatiation is that he is in most, if not all of the scenes. If the movie has his name in the tile that builds the expatiations too. This is especially true for male performers because most of us in the business are not on the covers of our movies.

  I perform rough sex in my movies but rarely in real life. I have asked people why they like these kinds of things. Most of the guys tell me they like rough sex scenes because it shows pure self indulgence. It's not about hurting the other person, it's about self gratification through another as apposed to love making where pleasure comes from pleasing the other party. Sometimes people like to be a little selfish. Ironically the female very often still gets pleasure. From my ever growing female fan base what I hear mostly is: The fantasy involves of the release of control. Apparently it can be erotic.   Most of the black males I see don't put in the energy or positions that would make a scene pop. Most of our black male performers rely on their size as their claim to fame and not their over all performance. But on the other side, as a performer myself; I know keeping good energy is not easy and not noticed by most. Mr. Marcus has plenty of great performances out there, but when you make as many movies as he does, you're bound to have a few sleepers.
