As my handle says, I'm a longtime lurker on this board, but haven't posted before. I'm a fan with no connection to the industry at all, and this thread caught my interest. Someone earlier asked about approaching production companies with ideas and I've been wondering the same thing. I've got ideas I think would be hot -- story-driven stuff. I don't watch much story porn, but I would if someone were making the kind of stuff I've got in mind. If I wrote a script or a plot summary, could I get anyone to read it? Better question -- could I get anyone to read it without just stealing it if they happened to like it? I'm not interested in directing or performing. But if it's possible to sell a script or an idea, I'd be interested in knowing how.
