  • Possible Postal Tampering?? 9/7/2004 9:07 AM
Guys (and gals) The only thing that lazenby and I could arrive at is that a postal worker opened the package and replaced it with a DVD he had on his person. The reason for not just "nicking' it was that it was sent GLOBAL PRIORITY MAIL and is therefore trackable and guaranteed to be delivered. My only guess is that he or she figured if it got delivered the receiver would just figure the store screwed up, what the knucklehead didn't figure on was that the disc he swapped for was a non U.S. Release, but rather a Euro title. That is the only way I figured it out, had lazenby not forwarded me pictures of the disc/package I would have figured one of our guys messed up and sent the wrong order. I don't know for sure where it happened, I j...

  • Great new shipping deal from Lasersedge 7/9/2004 5:22 PM
scipio wrote: I'd wait until it either shows up on Laser's Edge's webpage or we get confirmation from Marc that it's on there and ongoing. I just had a look on their page and the $1.99 shipping special is there but I can't see the new rate. (did not create a dummy order, just looked around at their pages). Drew, YGM. scipio Hey all! It is indeed active and working. We added this new option due to demand. All you need to do is select it when checking out and the discs will automatically be removed from their cases and shipped along with their jackets and inserts (if applicable) via GPM. Remember to select "SHIP COMPLETE" if you do not wish to incur additional shipping fees. The way it works is the first 2 discs are charged a ...

Topic Moved by - DenverDon on Apr 12 2004 Heeljob Thanks for letting us know about this problem. It seems the data we provide to ADT has been a little corrupted as the titles we have "deactivated" after selling out of have continued to appear in their listings. This is a glitch that should be shortly rectified. If there is ever something that appears on ADTs site but then is not listed on our si...
  • Laser's Edge DVD Holiday Special! 12/18/2003 2:14 PM
Ramsey wrote: WOW, great news from my favorite online store :-) Btw Marc, stupid question but does this mean if I place an order for $100 I get a credit for $20? Not a stupid question at all. But, YES! that is exactly what it means! Pretty good deal, huh? Just make sure you total before shipping is $100 or greater. The credit is only good on future orders. It does not apply to the order you place to qualify. So, you place the order for $100+ and we then post a credit on your online account for $20. You place another order, whenever you want, and the credit will be applied to that order. Understand? Marc @ Laser's Edge
  • Why Laser's Edge treat their neighbours different? 11/20/2003 2:13 PM
mission wrote: Why Does Laser's Edge treat their neighbours differently? I took a look at the shipping rates for <link> and found that Laser's Edge overcharges Canada and Mexico by US$2 for DHL Express shipping. Given that both Canada and Mexico is north and south of the border, I would expect them to have the cheapest shipping among other countries. To my surprise, it is not. It is cheaper to ship to Europe and Asia Pacific than Canada/Mexico. Is there a specific reason for the higher fees? Yeah, I did the same thing and suspected Worldmail is from DHL but could not confirmed it as the service is not listed on DHL website. And you are right about the Laseredge page on shipping methods which no where has any explaination on what Worldmail is. Anyone here know what Worldmail is, please advise. Guys Just a quick note, we have updated our &quot;Explaination Of Shipping Methods&quot; page. It now reflects the services we use. We discontinued use of DHL's Worldmail service a few months ago (some of you will recall the problems we had back in March with Worldmail) and went back to our previous mail sorter. Al...

As I explained to you at the time you reported the missing package, this sometimes happens. Sometimes packages go missing due to a number of reasons. Postal theft being the main one, postal damage/disposal, mis-sort which leads to theft, etc. Your package that went missing has nothing to do with you difference in address...

  • I can't pay with VISA at Lasersedge anymore! 8/7/2003 1:00 PM
Hey guys, Ramsey made me aware of the discussion. I have been kind of swamped lately trying to get a ton of new stuff added to the site, setting up a &quot;Toy&quot; site, clearing out older titles (check out our SPECIALS & BARGAINS page!) and processing all your orders. As for this VISA situation, it seems isolated to Ramsey's card issuing bank. Not sure why as our bank can't even confirm the &quot;Black List&quot;. We have never had a chargeback from any bank based in The Netherlands, so the situation confuses me. However because it involved other merchants and not just us it seems that it isn't the &quot;ADULT BAN&quot; that Drew mentions. Therefore, I can't figure out the random ban of internet sites. I would be curious as to their cri...

I really think missing packages are more to do with postal workers than any particular retailer. Guys and Gals Thought I would chime in since this thread was started about us. We DO ship all packages we send confirmations on. We have been in the mail order/online business for over 15 years (since the days of Laserdiscs!). • Does Lasersedge now use Redirection in europe? 4/8/2003 5:01 PM
DVD_Freak wrote: My last two orders from Lasersedge came from Brussels airport in Belgium. Can someone from Lasersedge confirm that they are now useing a Redirection Service in europe? That would be great, cause all mail inside the european union isn't checked by the customs and so I don't get in trouble through the adult status of the shippings! Guys Just to let everyone know, we were using DHL WORLDMAIL. But due to some unforseen problems of recent we will be switching back to a US Sorting Facility. They have told us we will now have 7-10 day delivery again. This will take effect tomorrow. They should begin to have US postmarks starting with tomorrows shipments. Thanks for your continued support. Marc @ The Laser's Edge

Their system tells you if they've shipped the goods - after they've sent them then you're at the mercy of the postal system. But DO get in touch with them, sooner rather than later. In my experience it's always best to make the company you're dealing with aware of any problems, and politely let them know what you expect them to do about it! Marc at Laser's Edge has always been extremely helpful to me, so speak to him and see what he can do for you. I've recently had one package still unaccounted for but th...

Flinty wrote: Hi all, Can someone explain to me what Lasers Edge shipping rates now are to the UK as I cant make sense of the new shipping details on the site? Many thanks Flinty* Flinty Same as always, $1.99; but now you only pay the shipping one time per order. So if you order 4 discs and we ship you two right away and then 2 more later on (due to out of stock/backorder) you only pay the shipping charge for the first shipment, the second shipment has no shipping charge. In order to do this all discs must be part of the same order. Multiple orders are charged $1.99 for each order. Please note: YOU MUST SELECT &quot;ADULT SHIPPING SPECIAL&quot; Thanks Marc

Lasers Edge certainly don't send the boxes (well, not on any of my orders) just the discs and sleeves. They are wrapped up inside a jiffy bag. I've never had a problem with damaged discs if that's what you're worried about. Also, the packaging is discreet and has a customs declaration saying CD media or something, with a low $ value. I've never had to pay import charges, unlike with some other US outfits. Don't know about Fivestar, as I've never ordered from them. I think you'll find that Lasers Edge are pretty hard to fault as far as UK customers are concerned! Guys Just thought I would chime in with a clarification...
