  Going old, old school -- I met Janette Littledove (mid-80s performer, made about 40 films) at a strip club almost 20 years after she stopped performing, and she was so friendly and nice I fell a little bit in love.   Three come to mind: "Brandy and Alexander" (1991) starring Jeanna Fine and Jon Dough, about two singles who accidentally receive each other's dry cleaning and spend the bulk of the movie just missing each other. "Things Change: My First Time" / "Things Change: Letting Go" (1993) starring Nikki Dial as a woman who falls into and then out of a lesbian relationship with Deidre Holland. "The Masseuse" (1990) starring Hyapatia Lee and Randy Spears about an introvert who falls in love with a massage parlor worker -- much better than the Jenna Jameson remake from 2003. Interestingly, Paul Thomas directed two of them and wrote the third.

  It's been many, many years since I've watched a Serenity movie. Somehow at one time I ended up buying one of those 4-films-on-one-VHS-tape deals that included "M: Caught in the Act" and "Double Feature." I remember laughing, and that Serenity was easy to watch. Don't recall what the other two films were, but in "M" and "Double Feature," she was prominently featured and did B/G scenes in each.

  1) I rented the video, "Coming of Age," not a good video by any stretch but typical for the period. However, that was the first time I saw Tori Welles, in her scene with Tami Monroe.   Must have been circa 1989 or 1990, I saw the video, "Born to be Wild" at a porno theater. An otherwise forgettable movie made indelibly memorable because of Viper's scene. She scared me and excited me. I made a point to seek it out at the video rental so I could properly enjoy it in private. Fast forwarded through most of it, but watched her scene twice before returning it. My condolences to her family.

  CALIFORNIA VALLEY GIRLS (Hal Freeman, 1983) - I was told by the walking sage, Bill Margold, that this film originally had a 135 page script but, due to conflicts between various members of the crew, the script was shorn of a good 70 of those pages, including numerous supporting characters and subplots, which would have made the film much, much richer. This seems unlikely. Rule of thumb is that one page of script = one minute of screen time. A 135 page porn script would be 2+ hours of dialogue and plot; let's add in 7 sex scenes at a conservative 5 minutes each and we're looking at a 3 hour theatrically released porn feature.   For the quick in-and-out, my vote is Tori Welles, who to this day is one of my all time favorites. 93 films according to IAFD, although over half are comps. She did almost all of her work in 1989 before leaving in 1990 to get married and have kids. Incredible beauty and off-the-chart heat. Brief two-film come-back circa 1997, one was released by her then ex-husband Paul Norman and the other was her response. It's been 20 years and I keep hoping that with a resurgence (surgence?) of the MILF genre, she will make a comeback.

  Overrated - exclusive contracts. Only leads to overinflated hype for maybe a dozen scenes per year (Jesse Jane, Savana Samsom, Stormy Daniels, Kayden Kross, Jenna Jameson...). I really appreciate stars like Jenna Haze and Tori Black who (I'm throwing a number out) shoot maybe 50 scenes a year, gonzo or feature, for most of the major companies. My Underrated favorite, paradoxically, is former contract star Ava Rose, who I think has so-so acting talent but fantastic sex performances, but was hindered by shooting only a handful of scenes every year. I am a bit disappointed that Teagan went back under contract, and I hope that Bree Olson 2.0 stays freelance for a good long time.
