I'm wondering if there's still a lot of potential in European porn. I've been wondering because I personally barely know any European porn stars (most of them moved to the states after they became popular AFAIK). Likewise, I don't know a lot of porn companies/studios here. Most European porn I know is amateur-ish and contrasts sharply with most American porn.

Isn't this simply due to the fact that there's less money to be made? I think there are a lot of free porn sites nowadays: less people are tempted to pay for their porn. I'm not sure, but I feel like the porn that's coming out, is the product of some big, established companies that repeat their success-formulae, and there are virtually no small, independent studios/directors which produce material anymore. I'm not sure, but I think it was easier to 'make it to the mainstream' when the internet was not around.
