Whereas most classic porn plots are fairly ridiculous, the idea that step-siblings might get horny and go at it makes for a fairly simple story that doesn't need much more from either the writer or the actors. If the writing quality and acting skill improved substantially in the industry then I'm convinced that we would see a lot less of this genre.
