  I understand what you are saying, and of course, there's nothing wrong with a company shooting the highest quality content that they can if they are still making a profit, like the extreme example you gave of brazzers. That being said, I don't think that the average viewer of porn cares as much about skillful camera work, and perfect hd video, as a lot of industry people think or wish they do.

  Porn is not dying. There are more independent amateur producers than ever before, and more porn fans than ever before, as the rest of the world catches up with high speed internet. The old business model is dead as far as hiring agency girls for $800 a piece, paying a director to shoot for you, hiring a makeup artist, renting a location, etc, and then making a profit by just selling dvds. Anyone in any city can buy an hd video camera and some lights, and become an instant porn director, and to a lot of fans, that type of amateur content is more appealing than seeing the same handfull of agency porn girls that they see in every movie that comes out of the valley.

  A better option would be to sell the van, go back to cleveland, and start shooting amateur girls in cleveland. Then make your own website, and if you can't afford that, then just do a clips4sale site. It would still be better than trying to break in as talent in L.A., which doesn't make that much money even if you could break in.

  That's what I meant. Is there any of them that make it as just male talent alone. Meaning that they have a house, car, and pay all their bills from just being male talent, and nothing else. 25-30 is way more of them than I would have thought. I would have picked a number closer to zero.

  You could take it one step further with the question of how many guys make a living as male talent. Subtract the guys who own their own production studio, and star in their own videos. Not talking about them. Just talking about talent. Now how many of them actually make a real living from the business? That means that they have a house, car, money in their pocket, etc, from just porn. What would that number be?
