  Just got my WD TV and hooked it up with a 1 TB WD external HD. The box and remote controls are so small. Looks like 2-inch thick paperback and such a tiny remote control. Yes, it is slow to respond to the remote, but the videos are good and sharp. BUT I can't seem to get the subtitles from my Hollywood movie backups to show. I hit Options button on the remote and click subtitles but "no subtitles" shows up. I know the movie have subtitles. Can anybody help me figure this out. Otherwise burned DVD's are still the way to go for me. Must use a power strip to turn off my WDTV and both my external HD's as the latter gets hot after a while. I'd like Western Digital improve by making a big box with faster responses, bigger remote with ...

  I'm trying to remind myself NOT to buy blu-ray movies. Takes way too long to load on the player. If I make a mistake, I have to wait another long wait and then find where I left off. If I turn off the movie in the middle, again I must go through the long load and refind where I left off. I don't have these kinds of problems if I watch edited movies burned onto DVD blanks. Starts faster and replays from where I stopped last night. After a while you forget whether you're watching blu-ray or regular DVDs. Picture and sound is good enough. I would rather save money, time, and trouble and rent blu-ray movies.

  There's this new product from Western Digital called WD TV selling for $100 on Amazon.com. You hook it up to your TV with HDMI cable or 3 RCA jacks and then attach up to two external hard drives with USB II wires. With the remote control you can watch your backed up movie collection, pictures, or what without having to burn individual DVD blanks for each movie. Has anybody tried this product.
